Freeride related but Tomy G is Off canyon and without any bike sponsor for 2026.
He's been off canyon for years. He was on GT until it shit the bed earlier this year. He is just using old frames he has ATM.
So...what team(s) are folding in 2026 that haven't been announced?
Which frame brand(s) will not be represented by World Cup teams (including in the Wild Card)
There are some really small brands with a very small presence that have been doing DH for reasons unknown, other than the Corvette theory of marketing.
Pivot have enough points to keen going...?
Eh, looks like the official WBD MTB page is broken while the UCI one is correct. Google took me to the WBD page first. If you go here - https://www.ucimtbworldseries.com/standings - and select Team and DH, teams only have a few hundred points. If you root around in the UCI page ang go here https://www.uci.org/discipline/mountain-bike/4LArSj7CKcytMrGEDtKwkb?tab=rankings&discipline=MTB it shows the correct points per team.
BK just posted a reel on Instagram of PFR's year in review and there was a picture of Moi Moi that snuck in there. is this a hint?
Great spot. No other people in that specific photo so it seems very random.
The WBD page is only World Cup series points whereas the UCI includes world champs, Crankworx , national series etc. any race that offers Uci points
From BKs recent post. Credit to @Puneta for catching this. I just went and took a screenshot after seeing their tip.
I don't know if MoiMoi to Pivot would work from a business perspective. BK already has a merch side hustle and vlogs, EdBull media already does MoiMoi-type videos. Adding another dude who has merch and a social media following may not make sense.
I think where Jack Moir ends up will be really interesting, given the landscape of enduro at this time. What are some teams that could be looking to add someone? Super highly unlikely, but it would be sick to see Santa Cruz form a team with him and Booker.
I see it a little different. it would make sense to have someone that does their own promotion and sells merch to support their racing. PFR provides the bikes, the kit, the management (accommodations and travel), the mechanic (maybe), and a modest salary and Moi Moi can supplement with his other sponsors and the Moi Moi merch money. Not saying it is ideal for Moi Moi, but there are not too many companies out there throwing big money at enduro riders.
I would bet that the Pivot circus might be his only offer that doesn't feel like a downgrade to some third tier team. Join them for minimal pay but it's good times and high vibes with the freedom to promote himself however he wants (vlogs, merch).
Would agree. But enduro is dead. The industry seems to move more towards trail or freeride at the moment.
I see his future in contend creating: uci dh, crankworks, ixs dh... stuff like that. He has a real talent there.
Enduro is not dead. It just can't be viewed and marketed like DH. If Pivot doesn't pull the plug, Moi Moi is a great choice.
Did some extreme internet investigating.... And I found this!
Or Moi Moi back to DH 😎
Is he following any other brands
If he's not riding for them, that's not following, that's stalking.
What’s pivots point situation. Can they even guarantee a spot at every round at dh.
Seems like focus on enduro and select dh events is the way to go.
He follows other DH race team accounts but Trek seems to be the one where's he kinda following everything that has anything to do with trek.
Bodhi has a multi-year contract.
Outside looking in at the moment. 22nd in the overall.
Is that with or without YT's departure? I'm assuming they, at the very least, get to 21st heading into next year... And then ride out wild card entries at every single event. I can't imagine they aren't first in line for wildcard entries. For a few reasons...
To me the biggest question is, does Pivot do anything in the off season to position themselves better? Or does the team fade more so into local races with no roster changes, etc.
I actually quite liked Pivot going to 'local' races since you knew you were gonna get BK/JH and even EdBullMH content at races that would otherwise be covered less. So I'm quite biased in those regards. I feel like in terms of their recent results, their youtube content is more effective advertising than the concept of 'going well at WCs'. Obviously it's not their intention to be struggling, but it is what it is.
Without. Top 15 teams get a 1 or 2 year entry. 15-20 get wildcard for the season. Then 8 wildcard spots per race. Every team that applied for a wildcard for individual races got them for DH.
Thought I read somewhere that pit space is based off team status ie Wildcards have smaller pits not in the prime area.
Ahh, that's interesting. One of the not so subtle points I was alluding to was Pivot's budget to pay extra for pit space (as a wildcard) and how that may put them at the top of the list. But... If there's a rule in place to negate that I guess I can put my tinfoil full face away.
But ya I don't expect them to miss any WCs unless they don't care to go anymore. Regardless of wild card slot. Unless they were forced into tiny pits and it ruined their system and they didn't want to 'PIVOT' or something. But ya can't see them not racing WCs. Just wondering if they bring a new signing or just fully sign Dodgy Rodgy... I'm assuming he never signed anything past the 2025 season? Unless I missed it...
walker retired this year too, so there's def a spot for an enduro racer on pfr...
I don't see Jack Moir going to Pivot. Pivot not making money off the DH racing right now and their Enduro team isnt strong enough to be one of the popular big Dawgs.
I don't see pivot taking a financial risk such as adding a big name Enduro rider in a sport that's in a transition period. If Jack was at peak form and contending for an overall this year. Maybe there's an argument at that point.
Or maybe I'm an idiot. Let's see how this ages...
This aged... well?
