I was there a few weeks back and got to witness Ronan riding it. Was truly something else, boy was pinned! Be sick to see him on the top step again after the graft.

That's weird that Asa & Ollie are over 6 seconds back.  Kind of a huge gap for qualifying.
Maybe discussed w/ their teams & no need to risk top seed w/ no points on the line?

Lest we forget he's torched wheels consistently this season.
Les Gets wasn't a wheel buster in the muck.

Did that happen at any rounds other than Loudenvielle?

Asa might have had an issue in his run. I expect him to go well on this track.

lawlor reporting it's greasy due to rain and a lot of riders not going on track today. FYI, no raw today. only the one from yesterday, but The Weekend follows Gwin, Coulanges and Antoine Pierron, so should be a good one!

What was Sven's reference to only take 5 Junior Women for finals? Or was it 5 women don't make the cut for it?
And if there is a cutoff for Juniors, are they seeding in order of qualifying time now?
Or just auto-slot via UCI ranking as in the past?
Is there a cap on riders in other finals or some cutoff #?

True qualifying, at least for juniors. 60 jr men and 20 jr women into the finals.

There were only 25 junior women in qualifying. So the question is: why not let those 5 women race? Can they not spare the 5 minutes in the schedule? Will it damage the track so much that racing won't be fair?

Is there also a quota for elites? I thought at World Champs, it was just a seeding run.

What's the point with regulations if they're not complied with?

Why make that regulation? In elites it says above they will have 80 men and 40 women. That makes half the number of men. So why not have it be 30 junior women?

Also, they make changes to small things like this all the time. Sometimes they make changes to the course after practice. Sometimes they change the schedule throughout the weekend. Sometimes they even allow a judgement call on a DSQ for leaving the course. Why can't they open up 5 more slots?

Don't ask me, i don't make the rules. I'm just an avid fan of complying with regulations.

Look, man, I'm also a rule follower. My wife gets mad when we play card games (or board games, or lawn games, or whatever) because I insist we play by the rules. But, the important part here is that I don't care what rules we play by as long as we all agreed to them before the game starts. We can play with all kinds of house rules if we want to, as long as we all know. I don't like rules just because someone wrote them down one day. I like rules that make sense, and if they don't make sense for today then they should be changed.

So this scenario goes more like this: its a week before the race, and nobody has practiced yet. The organizers look at the start list and see that there are only 25 junior women. They say "you know what, we don't need you to take unnecessary risks during qualifying. You're all just kids, you came out here, and we can handle 5 more riders." The team representatives take a vote, and they decide if they want this, and the vote holds. Who is hurt in this scenario?

wait to you realize that only 3 elite women are going to be eliminated...

but they can't really change the rules like that. What about a rider that qualified for worlds but chose not go because they couldn't justify going knowing they wouldn't qualify and then find out that they took everyone.

What’s worse if they make a mistake they might sit up.  4th place is no better than 100th place.

Am I alone in finding these mudder races dull? No one is able to push, looks slow, doesn’t resemble anything that you would consider riding. Let’s race in places where the soil doesn’t turn to peanut butter please.

What? Mud produces some of the best runs in the history of the sport! Sam's 2007 Champery run, Danny's run in 2011, Gwin's run at Mt Saint Anne in 2018, Recces's 2020 World Championship-winning run, Amaury's 2024 Les Gets run, Ronan's and Max's 2025 Les Gets runs were all fun to watch.

Of course the Californian says that.

Ronan was 100% pushing last week, Amaury too before the cartwheeled.

Weather is just part of racing, it is what it is. They try and have the rounds in somewhat good weather (except MSA in October lol), but if it rains it rains.

Start list for juniors. First female drops at 11 am and they pretty much roll straight into the junior boys. Just read that results don’t matter for the order and finals is still based on Uci ranking so Tyler Waite drops last even though he qualified 17th

Correct, that did happen. If I remember right there were far less entries (I want to say 11 but could be wrong), and only 1 woman would have been left out or something like that. In the end they decided to let them all race finals.

They seemed very confused at the end.  I don’t know if Andrew was supposed to commentate the last 6 riders and do analysis the rest of the field or he just kind of forced it.  He and the other dude were way out of sync.

Tracey and Andrew would be an improvement.  Tracey always did a good job in the analyst role.
