Race #7 is here! After a 5-week break, the World Cup circus is back in town, and what a town it is. Nestled in the Portes du Soleil region, home to the most famous bike parks in Europe, Les Gets knows a thing or two about putting on a good show for the fans. Will the French pull off another home soil victory, or will Jackson Goldstone return to his winning ways to keep building on what is shaping up to be a record-breaking season for him? Can Vali Höll take her first win of the season after getting a chance to recharge her batteries? We will find out soon enough!

Play Vital DH Fantasy Les Gets (game will open when quali start list is released)

Weather - this far ahead of the event, the weather forecast is classic Les Gets...cloudy with some thunderstorms. We all know anything could happen up in those mountains though, so the forecast doesn't mean much until we get closer to the race.

so the last corner, that in the past has determined race finishes when riders overcooked or undercooked, is now a wooden berm making it a non-feature? #disappointed
Maybe they re-buult the motorway jumps that run into it, seeing as they were the worst jumps in a DH track this decade and a spot of national shame for French trail builders trying to shed their reputation. So you might be arriving with a lot more speed and they had to do something
LOL, spot of national shame! but wouldn't the challenge of handling the dirt berm with more speed showcase who has the skills even more?
This wooden berm is killing one of the most insane spot to be at a World Cup… maybe they did it on purpose to block the crowds from running into the corral at the end of the last run. The madness was always starting from behind this corner
I’m more of a fan of the race being won or lost in tech/steep on the meat and potatoes of the track than on the last corner. It’s the reason Leogang is my least favorite venue.
Here are a few pics fresh from today, courtesy of @Love_morzinelesgets; photos by @bike_trail_concept who designed and built the track.
Looking good for anyone who forgot their DH bike and has to rip the 135mm trail bike!
I know at those high speeds the 200mm of travel is still necessary but where is the bumpy stuff that looks good on slo-mo
Trust me it will get bumpy lmao
They really should stop this berm building chicanery. That EDR with Ed Masters & crew hitting those off cambers with INSANE talent & skill was amazing to watch!!!
Bike parking is getting so sucky. And wet weather turns every dozer bowl into garbage.
Watch the Sleeper.co video of the guys riding the track after the race on their e-bikes (last year, I think?).

Still looks like a rowdy track, especially if they get as much moisture as it sounds like they're supposed to get. Tues (1mm), Wed (7mm), Thurs (44mm), Fri (18mm), Sat (5mm). Obviously the forecast can change (especially in the mountains), but it's looking like it's going to be greasy at the very least.
On another note, I've been in Morzine since the 16th and only have a few days left, but it's been cool to see the WC stuff go up, the team trucks roll in and (especially today), see riders ripping around all over (especially Mainline/Pleney). Wild to see how fast they are in person.
why are you doing this?

Love this course.
Do riders start pulling the lead weights off the bottom brackets for this one to get as light as possible over the teflon tubes?
