Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Dont the teams carry the points not the rider next year? so Norco will be sweet with the girls leading the charge and danny has a 2 year contract.
but what if they are building?
did he stop being one?
somewhat right. But For this year the time on track changed massively and riders need to get up to speed quick! The lack of training time means adaption to track and speed within 4 hours training time.
As for Q1 wich pretty much is the "in our out" first racerun, riders test the limits on the TT.
Hence, it's TT, one hour of training this morning and then Go Time! You don't change much if at all within this hour so efficiency is key.
Does anyone knows why Caribou and Van Leuven DNS in Q1?
Gwin is also not starting?
It's a relatively short track and the lift is fast, so you could possibly get 4-5 runs in a single session if you really wanted to.
The wording on Barel/Marine's Instagram story is ominous. Fingers crossed for Marine.
Some tight racing.
This morning MotoGP had a timed session. The top 10 spread on a 1:20 lap was 0.718 Sec.
Our Q1 top 10 spread on a 2:40 run was +1.349 Sec..
How on earth can a bunch of guys hurdling down a blown out track with changing conditions (stray rocks, berms exploding) be closer than a manicured tarmac Motogp lap with everyone on the same line, 50 person support crews, unlimited data analysis etc. is beyond me.
Madness.
He was "On track with Gary" and saying he'd hurt his elbow. @3.25
Dak through Q2!!!
Dak is in! Hart, Brosnan, Kiefer and may more are out

I’d like to know if Gwin hurt the good elbow or the bad one…
Danny finished up at La Thuile, headed home to help Sophia deliver their third, and made it back to Andorra to try and qualify. What a lad.
If it rains, no one will beat Max and Asa’s times
I do not envy Juanfer dropping last.
Does a boring track for the riders mean boring racing for us? Seemed so yesterday, today no so much.
That tidbit about the MotoGP top ten vs our top ten is bananas. Tightest margins ever.
LCQ still providing a great show.
The racing is so good right now.
On his IG story he said it's the good elbow
Gwin stated it was the other (the good) elbow this time.
The juniors won in Andorra today (again)! https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/news/results-andorra-uci-world-cup-dh-junior-qualifying
Honestly I just feel for Jenna at this point. 13th Q1... 6th Q2.
She had a Q1 11th in VDS. And a Q1 11th in Poland.
She has not seen a single final this year. (And on a team that absolutely needs the points.)
I hate that inherent level of pressure for her. It's one thing to be far off the pace and know you need to make changes. But to be constantly on the bubble and maybe not sure where to squeeze that extra juice from...
Juniors are cancelled
Forecast must be pretty bad. I hope the elites are still able to race
Only elite points for the Fantasy League then?
Wanted to see the juniors finals, boys and girls are crazy fast!
@sspomer any idea how fantasy will pan out?
With Junior Finals being cancelled, will they be awarding points from today as a double for the overall...count the Qualy points & award the finals points?
There are no points for juniors in qualifying to begin with.
Have I mentioned how stupid this new system is? I'm reiterating.
I feel like I should get some bonus points for the caption I wrote for the junior qualifying post this morning (pre-cancellation) LOL.

It's been that way a while...
Updated Junior World Cup standings after the cancellation of tomorrow's junior finals (qualifying results stand as final race results):
Junior Men
Junior Women
FANTASY UPDATE
Due to extreme weather hitting Andorra tomorrow (Sat., July 12th), the UCI has decided to cancel Junior Men's and Women's racing. That means the qualifying results from today stand as the final results.
Despite the cancellation, Vital Fantasy will carry on as usual—one rider from each category must be picked to submit a team. Points for Junior riders will be allocated based on their result in qualifying today, which is now considered the Final results from the weekend.
I'll let everyone sort out strategy on how to pick Juniors since the results are already known. We know this isn't the ideal situation, but this was the best option due to the circumstances and timeline. Let us know if there are any questions. There is still 10+ hours to submit a Fantasy Team.
