What do we think, nobody chose 69? Or the UCI banned it?

Hasn't Ed Masters won an Enduro World Cup before? Strange he isn't listed.

Neither is Greg Callaghan, Alex Rudeau, Sam Hill or Adrian Daily. Maybe they just forgot?

Only riders who have won an UCI World Cup get the ability to choose a plate number. The riders you listed won under the older EWS (pre UCI World Cup) series.

RR gunning to beat AP for the 4

Jenny Rissveds and Simon Andreassen were both sporting the 69 plate in Brazil I believe. Do they have the same permanent numbers ploy?

The numbers are for the year only or the rest of your career?

The numbers are for the year only or the rest of your career?

UCI International Elite Number System:

Riders who have won an Elite UCI World Cup race (XCO, DHI) will be asked to select a career number (2-999).

Upon retirement being confirmed to the UCI or communicated publicly, a rider's unique career number will be made available for allocation to other riders.

Elite riders will be asked to select their number in descending order starting with the rider who currently has the highest number of UCI World Cup wins.

For the UCI World Cup, the current UCI World Cup leader will race with number 1, superseding his unique career number.

Sammi Maxwell’s interviews made me a fan, but her choosing 666 puts her over the top.

DH outlaws take note.

Career number is cool. I think the novelty of 69 might wear thin over the years though haha.

Sammi Maxwell is a beast, and 666 is the icing on the cake. Proud (import) kiwi here.

Gracey and LMS have been added to the group of riders who get a career number after winning their 1st DH World Cup in 2025.

On the Enduro side Simona K, Ella C, Elly H, Slawomir L and Alex R all join the list,

For XC Evie R, Ondrej C, Luca M, Martin V and Charlie A all joined the list.

Haha hell yeah Evie Richards going with #13. I forget, with Greg Minnaar retired, can someone else pick his number?

Greg keeps his number as he hasn't officially retired. He is leaving the door open to race if needed by being listed as a rider on the Norco x ADIDA Race Division UCI World Series Team.

if a rider retires, what is the process to pick that number i.e would it go back the original criteria of most wins decides? I would think so

One would assume when a number becomes available riders in order of most wins would be offered the opportunity to swap.

LMS EDR number is 22 but he couldn't choose it for DH as Remi Thirion already had it so choose 18. Guess if he had the opportunity when Remi retires he world swap over to 22?

Career numbers should be a thing. Over on the bmx side of things I don’t know the criteria but riders can select a career number and it works great for branding.

I also don’t know the details on when they lose them, but I remember from Coffee Chatter that Tory Nyhaugs career number just came up for grabs with his retirement a while back.

Nah, 18 is what we won on that's why he chose it.

Don't think Asa will get a career number til he wins an elite world cup.
