IIRC Intense was not going to run a WC DH team for 2024, that's why Gwin and Dak's Intense Factory racing (IFR V1 RIP 2023) shut down. I believe John Hall stated Intense was going to focus on National level racing in the US in 2024.
Breeden bought and runs the new Intense Factory racing (IFR V2 2024+) and it sounded like Intense has a smaller investment than they did with Gwin.
Last year was basically the first year of a new team with an old name. I'd assume a certain level of chaos just like any new team.
The jersey says even more I mean one two people can have it.
Fair points indeed. No shade on them I am a fan just a lot goes on. They dissolved the team this time last year after so much work and devlopment been put into the bike. Did Gwin or Dak even get to ride the finished bike in the end. Now it's gear box bikes instead after only a few world cups on the bike they put so much work into.
that team was never owned by Intense, it was always Gwinns team. They (could have been either side) decided that the partnership wasnt in their best interest to continue so Gwinn created his new Gwinn racing team. Prior to them being the naming rights sponsor of Gwinn's team, the old team was owned by Intense
how often people wright this legendary man‘s name wrong just baffles me… it‘s Aaron GWIN! 🙄
rant over, sorry😅
don't be a sour puss just because you can't accept the thought that a succesful woman should lead a team
Fully agree. Plus MS as a partner that was not a good idea.

Seen as Vali's salary is likely 3-4 X that of Kolb's, I'm sure she doesn't mind having a graphic welcoming him to her team giving him prominence.
super interesting! Looking at Yeti - would that mean that Camille takes the risk not be on the start line since the team is not Top15?
When joining YT last year Vali stated in an Interview that her salary is roughly 100k. Of course that could be higher for this season after her success last year. But I don´t think, Kolbs salary is that much lower.
It would be criminal if Vali is on 100k. I would expect her base salary to be 3-4x that at least.
At least 75k?
Who is going to put that amount of money??
This is a small sport, are not road bikes😀
IIRC she said, even though 100k was a good amount of money, the top male riders still make 3 times as much as the female riders and complained a little bit about the injustice in dh mountain biking. That´s why I´m guessing a top male rider (and Kolb is a top male rider) won´t make much less than Vali.
Yes I imagine Vali's base salary is higher..and rumors I heard were with bonuses, personal contracts with companies like Adidas etc. that Vali is doing much better than 100k per annum. Good for her.
If a select few riders in the men’s field are earning enough to drive €150k+ cars and flying to races in private jets then they’re likely earning close to 7 figures. In 2025 I’d expect Vali to match this. If you want World Cup wins and rainbow stripes for your brand she’s as close as you’ll get to a guaranteed result.
Who's flying in private jets? No way anyone is earning $1M/yr.
AG himself stated this when he was at his peak and winning WC-overalls. i think it was during the YT-era, that million was salary plus combination of personal sponsors like ODI, onza, etc.
howelse was he able to afford that top mansion in temecula plus his porsche gt3/mclaren 570s. times and his priorities where different back than
now back to team rumors, i think salaries should be a seperate thread.
The private jets were discussed on the downtime podcast after loudenville last year. Bruni and co posted a few photos on instagram. AG gave the $1M figure back in 2017.
The way I read it, it's MS that wants to go the gearbox route, not Intense but they built MS an M1 Pinion frame.
Make sense for Commencal. If Brett is starting his own bike brand then why should they be paying him while develops there future competition.

March 2020 to be exact 🙂
I also remember a video of Loic giving a right breakdown and over the year he made "about a million bucks".
Cathro got the scoop back when dirt mag was still around 🦖
Since we are getting more and more announced teams, the confidence column now goes up to 4 for confirmed riders, to differentiate from rumored moves. 1-3 are still rumors. 4 is only if teams, the UCI, or riders themselves have announced it.
Goodmann Santa Cruz confirmed Bouladou, Estaque, Pontvianne and Falquet a week ago. Could someone update their column to 4?
Reece Wilson’s insta story shows him riding a blurred out bike. Won’t let me post a screenshot for some reason.
here it is
Looks like a gamux if you ask me
