Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew

Posting this here, because I think this thread highlights this issue better than any other (especially lately).
-Requesting you change the settings in the forums to display a lot more posts per 'page'. I think right now it's at ~32 posts per page. On a busy day there can be two pages added. A busy week, 5+ pages. People who are not avid users (daily) of this forum pull up the last page, scroll through it, then make a post.
This is why we get people posting that "Danny Hart is on a Nukeproof in NZ" 6 times over the past 10 pages in this forum. Also why we get people posting rumors that have been debunked 3 pages earlier.
I don't see any reason why this forum shouldn't load up 75-100 posts in one page. Would be far less annoying for people using the site as navigating through pages as it is the slowest part of using this forum. This is obviously more of an issue on very popular threads like this, but it's also a time suck on other threads as well. 75-100 posts per page would allow most small topics to never need a second page and popular ones like this to at least have a couple days of posts on the last page.
The only reason I can assume that you have the post count so low per page is to actually drive more page loads to display ads? Otherwise it's just a negative for the user. Hopefully you can up the posts as I think it would make a better experience for everyone (faster browsing, less inaccurate/debunked/repeat posts).
Thnx!
Experiencing a bug now where I mark notifications as read, and then once I click to another page (e.g. from home page to forums, or to a review) the same notifications reappear as unread.
Personally I think it's funny that we blew up the forums so much that we broke Vital's notification system. I don't know if it's funny to you guys, but it makes me laugh a little.
EDIT: After a few minutes, the notifications are no longer showing up as unread. So maybe there's just some sort of lag/delay?
Oof- spammers got a hold of The Hub.
nuked 'em. they'll prob be back in some form, but thanks for the heads up!
Yep, they're back. That deal on Ambien sounds pretty sweet, though... maybe we should hear them out.
maybe some sort of key word filter for headlines or a blocker where you can’t make a new thread for a few days after registering a new account would help?
This should be fixed now. Thanks for letting us know about it.
Yep, the Team Rumours thread is working as normal again for me, clicking on notifications takes me there straight away.
Good work Guys!
Found a new mystery for y'all to solve. When I click the thumbs-up on a forum reply, the whole page refreshes. I do not recall this happening in the past. (The thumbs-up count is correct after the page refreshes, but I have to scroll back down to where I was in the thread.)
Not sure if it's a glitch or not, but when you go back to edit a post where an emoji has been used the emoji is massive and you have to hit edit twice to make changes.
Thanks for the feedback. If we don't get to it sooner, we have some changes later in the year that should fix this going forward.
Something new I've noticed over the last couple of days- notifications take me to the most recent post on the Tech Rumours and Innovations thread, I then have to scroll up to see any other posts since my last visit.
This doesn't happen on other threads and didn't on this one until a couple of days ago. Other threads take me to the first post since my last notification and any subsequent posts are there underneath.
I hope I've explained this sufficiently.
It's terrible the new Joe Barnes video isn't up on the home page yet. Just terrible.
or we didn't want it instantly buried. there have been nearly 20 homepage posts in the last 24 hours or so (we knew it would be this busy). barnes vid would be obliterated to the bottom. after WC this week when things slow down, we plan to put it up.
how hilarious is the choir section HAHA!
Would it be possible to have an option for dark mode?
About the forum spam:
Allow new users to only open new threads after their account is a week (or maybe 3 days or so) old.
Allow users with an account less than a month old to only open one new thread a day.
Don’t know if the forum architecture supports these rules but these bot accounts are annoying as fuck.
Can there be a group ride/meetup forum page? I'd like to make some new friends.
hey @Filledwithfire - unfortunately i don't think the a separate section like that would be utilized all that much. you could try posting something in The Hub area to see if it gets traction. MTBR has a pretty robust area for group rides. here is a link to their alaska-specific page, too - https://www.mtbr.com/forums/alaska.90/
Is there any way of telling you guys I've filled out the survey and get rid of the pop up that keeps appearing?
Maybe a bug? Clicking the "More" link in a quoted comment collapses the quote instead of expanding it:

Yes, we're aware of the problem and working on a fix.
@VitalBrad when I’m logged in, the home page shows articles that are a few days old. I can only see the most recent articles when I log out of my account. Not sure if it’s just me, but pretty weird.
yup, came here to post... the home page feed is not updating but weirdly enough the posts that are nearly a week old now are showing 'posted 10/12/14 hours ago' or whatever.
its like its locked into a single cache of the home page. home page is stuck on like... whos riding world champs and the rosignol LTD bike for me
exactly the same here.
Thanks for the heads-up on this. We're looking into it.
Should be fixed.
its good on my end
Fixed! Thank you.
I've been seeing the interstitial/splash screen ads pop up more often lately, notably when I click "More" on a quoted reply to see the rest of it, which I had never seen happen before. not sure if this was intentional, and it's not a huge deal, just wanted to let y'all know as it's a bit frustrating.
We're aware of that and are working on it. It's a bug. Sorry for the inconvenience.
