I believe it utilizes two different patented (one may be patent pending) suspension designs, CBF and another. Not a traditional CBF as it does have a pivot in front of the rear axle where the CBF bikes do not have any pivots in the rear triangle. Guessing it will pedal quite well with the instant center staying on top of the chain ring. Post some more stuff Chris!

I believe this is the CBF3 that Chris has talked about for a while, and I think you're right about it being a pending patent.

I’m currently riding a steel front end with aluminum rear off a Trek session. Great combination! Similar to that Vampire, different rear axle location/layout. Fun bike!

Nearest I can tell it looks like just a standard Horst link. Is there hidden complexity going on around the main pivot, like DW6? There is something going on about where the front derailleur would be.

looks like this https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/89/0f/fe/9a5ac4b66ce4b2/US20210380195A1.pdf

Ah I get it now. Vampire bikes because whatever pivot placement you pick, there are 2 bite holes in the tube.

If that patent gets awarded someone must burn the patent office to the ground.

tell me more about that! Would it be homemade? or is it the Session that Vergier was covering these days?

It’s a one off front end made by Adam Prosise out of Colorado. Replicated geo and kinematics from Session R2 in 25% leverage ratio.

I really like the Session platform but thought the frame was much too rigid compared to the Supreme V5 (which has the most fore/aft compliance I’ve ever felt in a frame and softest lateral rear end). So I wanted to see how the kinematic would feel on a more compliant chassis.

Overall for my style of riding, speed and track type it’s been working great! It takes the edge off the feeling of sharp bumps and square edge hits. Much less feedback to the rider’s hands and feet.

If you're using an oval with an idler pulley, doesn't the "clock" of the oval chainring have to be changed?

Yes. So much yes. That also more or less makes it bike specific as the clocking will be dependant on the incoming angle (clock) of the chain coming onto the ring.

+1 to that. I know Deviate pointed that out in their FAQ but they don't provide much info:

"CAN I USE AN OVAL CHAINRING?

Technically, yes - however, you’d need a crankset and chainring combination that can be “clocked” to account for the idler wheel. This process will require some experimentation and as such we cannot offer support on installation."

It seems that Hope cranks + chainrings might be a good fit for experimenting.

I think some companies in the oval chainring business do actually make high pivot ready oval chainrings with the correct clocking from the get go. Don't remember which though, but I have seen it in the past.

I bet absoluteBlack’s “scientist” has designed one that also improves your aero coefficient by 11%

Wow, I thought they would have made a bigger change. Looks like linkage and maybe thinner top tube. Could be changes in carbon layup. Interested to see how Valli does on that bike!

They wanted to, but from what I've heard a large part of R&D resources went into the development of the bike diaper...

That steel magic, eh?

Neko seems to have implied that his steel front triangles were too complaint for a dual crown fork, but then again hes racing WCs

I keep saying that 13/4" .049 worked great for me, but tradition says that they have to be skinnier.

Yeah I could totally understand the first Frameworks steel being laterally too soft at speeds of Neko and Asa.  I believe they will have a new version that is stiffer to test.  This frame has a large downtube than normal, also double butted tubing.
