Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Also looks like vee tires instead of maxxis.
Think it looks more like a Tacky Chan on the front of Richie's bike?
Interesting. Straight swap with the Syndicate maybe? As I think pon bought a percentage of OneUp?
Vali will be running the show at yt now I imagine. Bringing in her own partners like Adidas and Troy Lee and keeping SRAM. yt will either keep the other sponsors the same for the current riders or they'll switch to Vali's preferred sponsors.
it's funny how people downvote the truth
Did Matt Beer accidently spilled beans on the Other Site, or is he just guessing?
YT riders can run whatever components they want i believe, part of the ‘live uncaged’ philosophy. At least the enduring side can so I also imagine that covers the DH riders. If so won’t pose any component issues etc for valli or the other riders
hmm, pretty sure that‘s not richie‘s bike… his has a orange fork. believe it‘s the bike of todd schumlick, his trainer. at least he‘s on it on some of richie’s pictures.
sounds more like tech than team
rumors😋 probably a more refined or carbon or production version.
FYI I wasn't pointing at the Norco prototype, but who might be riding it (or the next iteration at least) next season. There is a tiny hint at it on the image caption (and all over the 10 last pages of this forum thread)
Possible team announcncement coming soon ? And it doesnt sound like they are going away
yeah, i got that… but he says greg won‘t be on THAT bike in the pictures which i unterstand as there‘s gonna be a new one from norco
maybe they‘re selling everything off with massive discounts… that‘s the account of nukeproof bikes and not their racing team.
I imagine it's just a 2023 season edit. Something that would have been in the works before the financial issues. Seems (judging by my Linedkin) that most of the key nukeproof brand people have got new jobs already. RIP nukeproof?
Pinkbike guys are on the money I'd say. I remember Minnaar saying in a Syndicate video or something that he HATED the proto high pivot mule they made. Or did I imagine it?
The bike has a SRAM transmission, so not his bike.
Here the rear tire still looks like a DHR 2 to me
Good point about the season edit, didnt think of that.
The inventory from Signa USA (Nukeproof/Vitus) went to Planet Cyclery / Colorado Cyclist. They quietly put it on sale last week – 50% off on some models.
He did say that he found it a lot more tiring to ride than the standard VPP layout, from an efficiency/pumping standpoint, and that it was slower in timed testing. That's not to say that another HP bike would be the same. Based on how my Range rides, it would be characteristic of Norco's long travel bikes, to say that they aim to maintain speed well as opposed to generating it well. More than one way to skin a cat and all.
Please bear in mind this contains a lot of speculation, and I have no concrete info about this.
What I find interesting about this, are the implications for Norco as a brand down the line. Supposing Norco views DH as a testing ground for technology that they'll then trickle down to their enduro/all mountain/trail bikes, and Greg gets them to make him a proto with a conventional suspension layout, they would then likely want to take that same architecture across the line to maintain a brand image. So over the next say 5-10 years. they would be again swapping most or every bike in their line to a new layout. An interesting proposition for a bike brand in the post covid era.
I don't recall reading this news last year...but then again, it's been a long year

Missed this as well. Good for the OneUp crew to get a cash infusion and hopefully a nice payout for their hard work bringing quality products to the market. Sounds like a minority stake so hopefully not a situation like SC with Rob Roskopp.
What is that TIRE on Richie's bike? Gotta be a new one. Sideknobs like that aren't on any Maxxis I know of
Word is that they were fully bought out shortly after the initial investment.
I recall him saying that he liked it, how composed it was but he didn't find it to be faster anywhere so it seemed to him like it was un necessary. I wonder about course variety, sudden weather changes and more time to adapt as reasons why it would have been a good choice to go high pivot. Greg liked the traditional layout for pumping and cornering.
Jackson said in very well put interview that it was a bit of a shock going away from the high pivot Trek but he got used to the V10 and liked the cornering ability.
And the general public? Possibly would have benefited from the easy going nature of high pivot.
Soo..Greg could adapt to the Norco and could benefit from it in the long run.
Oh my, Cannondale is listed in their holdings under "Sport" instead of "Performance" [SC/Juliana/GT].
I thought the Mob riders vould choose their own components, etc.
Yeah, that's what's rad about the YT setup.
Vali can stay on RS/TLD, Osin and Sian can stay on Fox/TLD, Moir can stay on RS/Fox Head. Life is good.
I had no idea 😂! Their marketing hasn't worked on me so.
Bit of a nightmare on the DH side to stock so many different parts/brands..but hey. Not my problem
