Only seen a few Atherton bits. But so far havent seen any red Slash builds. These guys showed a black remedy or EX refereed to someones "XC bike". Anyway just wondering if anyone else has seen an Atherton slash? Dan at least should have one buit up for sure. And just that I wondered "IF" the reason I haven't seen a "red" Slash build MIGHT be that there is some testing/prototyping going on....?

One can hope...

No idea why anyone is filming interviews in 50fps its horrible to watch, to many people with all the gear and no idea these days! Bike looks nice thou

They should've asked him how he is compensating the smaller front end and the smaller wheelbase. The wheelbase of the XL-Trek is 39mm shorter then the Large-Gt according to the geo specs.

Well at the beginning he clearly says that it is an XL frame. I don't think Trek is willing to pay for a new mold for an XXL frame. At least at the beginning.

I think Gee mentioned on Twitter that Trek turned up at one of the early test sessions with a freshly moulded carbon frame. He was blown away that they moulded a prototype frame in carbon, and it looked like the finished article. Trek haven't signed the Athertons to send them out on bikes that don't fit them.

Plus they can hand lay up/finish a prototype. Cost a ton in man hours. But still WAY cheaper than molds?

Funny how Gee gets so much grief. Winners are focused and often very serious. This guy puts so much work in and sacrifices a great deal out of his daily life to chase tenths a of seconds only to get crappy commentary from Internet aficionados. Kind of a bummer, really. Anyway, I feel like Gee is actually more honest in that he's not selling us on anything he's not 100% behind. He will be stoked when he is winning races on that gear and not much sooner I suspect. I respect that...for what it's worth. Thanks for sharing, Gee. Good luck this season.

I agree. Winning at that top level is hard and the ones who take it seriously, sometimes unjustifiably catch grief for it (Gee, Gwin, Lopes...).

Gee was dodgy on that "new tires" answer... I don't think he's stoked to be on bontrager tires.

Hahahahaha, yeah, I'd way rather be on Conti's than a Minion knockoff designed by the same guy and made in the Maxxis factory with the same rubber and casing. Oh wait no nm I'd be pumped to be out of the conti desert.
