Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
As we know Athertons are on Trek, so Whitley are starting a new team for Canyon with Barel acting as coach. Whitley is manager for Wyn, Branigan and Bulldog, so he will probably bring them to the team.
Thirion replaces Bruni on Lapierre. Marc Wallace to finish riding for Devinci and switch to Norco.
Graves is on Spesh as enduro rider and coach for the new dh team with Ropo, Shaw and Brosnan.
Aaron Gwin is moving on from Specialized - to a non-American, dealer direct brand.
That leaves space for a 3 rider team at Specialized.
The KTM bicycle brand is XC-oriented and just pays the motorcycle KTM brand to use the name, they're not the same company. I guess many people don't realise that.
Besides, Gwin looks like he is on his way to being a pro skater.
hem. By the way:come on guys.
This Gwin / KTM rumor has been on for about 3 seasons now.
Please don't make us repeat this anymore:
KTM MOTORCYCLE & KTM MTB ARE TWO F****NG DIFFERENT COMPANIES.
Thanks for your attention, bisous bisous.
I heard that Canyon took over the Lapierre team as well, from a source inside the business (clothing) that I trust, but there's so many rumours out there right now that I'm not sure if even the insiders know what's what anymore!
It's fun though :D
They have EWS and Freeride, but no DH racers. They want to validate the Tues as a race bike and could probably use an extra foothold in the US. While Gwin was at Interbike renewing his other contracts, he plugged Zink's movie and referred to him as 'my dude': https://instagram.com/p/7vkjx6lSk5/
Gwin probably thinks of most US citizens as his dudes.
And hasn't KTM been suffering through a bankruptcy? Skeptical....
I never said that the two KTMs were the same company. We've been reminded of that over and over during the past two silly seasons.
What I'm suggesting is that perhaps the O.G. KTM might want to bring the bikes back into the fold. Everyone knows that the bikes are generally junk. That reflects poorly on KTM because, apparently, some people don't know that they're different. If they stopped liscencing their name, or just outright buy the bike KTM, they could improve the bikes, make that bike money and have the bikes reflect better on the motos.
would be great to see some new brands on the mix
but who else is on the "team"?

Back in 2013, Stevie, Ratboy and co. did a bit of a commercial for the 350 freeride (just before worlds). 2 years later, they were still ob te same respective teams.
I feel that the basis of this obsession is the need for change. The MTB world is so close to the moto world. The Vital Empire started with moto I believe. Out at the Freedom 40 we had semi regular moto days until the land lord saw us having too much fun. Ride, jump, do a few laps... Good fun.
Honda teased us years ago. I think the industry is ripe for a major merger.
If not KTM or Honda, how ' bout Suzuki, Yamaha or Aprilia? Ducati? Their bike must be fas,t no?
do ktm have an enduro team or is it just xc , xce & road or would you say its the motorcycle end doing something like Honda with Whitely,,
