Pinkbike never did a good enough job of moderating comments. Absolutely deserved to be called out during the Floyd protests. Multiple times I’d reach out to mods about blatantly racist posts (often including the n-word) and never was anyone banned and most the time the post wasn’t even removed.
I couldn’t really care if someone calls me a social justice snowflake. The only people I hate in this world are the haters. Holding all of humanity back one shit(road)stain at a time.
Forum is a good forum. Comment section works just fine 60 some deep discussing why a particular bike wasn’t spec’ed as a mullet.
Only suggestion to the new guys is check out the gear club. Anything I don’t use I give to a friend and all of it is pretty sweet.
Seriously though, I didn’t intend to do that. I remember clicking once and nothing happening. Clicked a second time and received a “you cannot vote more than once” dialog, and yet it seems like it logged it anyway.
Just something to think about. Gonna drop it here.

I like Vital because it doesn't have all that bullshit. Hopefully it stays that way.
Freedom of speech gives me the right to say 'our government is a bunch of incompetent bickering waste of moneys', because they have little support from the public (they tried to pass a water 'preservation' law that was rejected by almost 90 % of the voters on the referendum) and they can't or shouldn't censor me (in an open society). It would be censored in more oppresive regimes. But evein in open regimes you still have to be careful about the claims, as they also need to be true and/or provable.
What freedom of speech does not give as a right is saying 'the X colored people suck because they look different to me'.
Freedom of speech gives you the right to say 'anything'. But some anythings are covered by laws that are above freedom of speech, so are exempt from it.
Your trying to draw an equivalence between your right to say what you like or be occasionally amused by someone who is a racist, and the rights of people to live without racist, sexual or other persecution.
They aren't even nearly equivalent and it's going to be a long life for you if you soil yourself every time someone calls you out for it.
Waki wasn't even funny either, what a weird hill to die on.
Any other creature on Earth, well, would not survive as a "victim". They would simply be eaten. Now, back to our regular scheduled MTN biking...I have a KOM I need to go get (seriously).
Media is the enemy.
Vital so far has not done that which is why I will still view this site. They are to be commended for this and rewarded as long as they don't go to the dark side.
