since payet's bike came up, i figured we should have a place for all the cool and crazy pro DH race bikes this season instead of burying them in the team rumors thread.

if you see something, say something haha...

I thought the same thing. But then again, how tall is Payet? 7'8"? The podium photos from Worlds last year are amazing, him and Danny are the same height, and Danny is on the top step of the box!

I imagine Commencal's team will be running bikes similar to this, but with some bigger wheels

Surly the Giant will have updated shocks and colours ? also Trek seem to still be riding the same old boring red Sessions.

A new season should mean a whole new looking bike design wise and updated components, its not like the good old days.

just saw this, had to throw it up.

On a related note, Reece Potter is riding the new Antidote DH bike called the "Darkmatter". It looks so. sick.

Given what Peaty said in his 17 Questions, I bet the Syndicate is testing them.

dirt scooped intense 29er DH bike - lots of welding with a tiny pic at the end!

Looks rad! And also unique, which is a very good thing. I was honestly a little disappointed with the M16 looking too similar to the V10.

It would be interesting to hear why they went with the thru the seat tube design this time vs the old method of sculpting the bike around the shock and linkeages. Maybe a strength and stiffness measure since the bikes are bound to be bigger and burlier.

I think a certain guy called Cesar Rojo has something to do with it. He is the man behind Mondraker and the UNNO bikes. This thing will be looking insane in carbon, that's for sure.

I think that bike industry should come down to this:

Downhill Racing bikes:
29 inch wheels
200mm and above travel

Freeride or park bikes:
26 or 27.5 wheels
180-200mm travel
