2025 Pivot Shuttle SL/AM Pro X0 Eagle Transmission E-Bike
Vital Review
Overall Review
The newest eMTB in Pivot's lineup, the Shuttle SL/AM, is the latest offering to the emerging lightweight eMTB category. The "Slam," as it is affectionately referred to, is intended to be as agile as their trail-focused Shuttle SL, yet more capable than their all-mountain Shuttle AM. With 150mm of rear wheel travel, the Slam slots between Pivot's two full-power options—the 170mm Shuttle LT and 148mm Shuttle AM—in terms of suspension capability. But weighing between 8-11 pounds less depending on build, this 39.9-pound (size Medium without pedals) eMTB is aimed to be an all-mountain ripper that...

2025 Transition Regulator SX XT E-Bike
Overall Review
Transition released two new eMTBs that are essentially a motorized version of their highly praised do-it-all Sentinel V3. The 150/160mm-travel Regulator as its called, comes in a light and not-as-light version using Bosch SX and CX drive systems. Besides the 400wh vs 600wh battery capacities and differently powered motors, the Regulator SX and CX appear to be identical. But don't let the appearances fool you. While the nuances may be subtle, each front end is uniquely designed with different tube shapes, diameters and drive unit areas. Color options and component spec details aside, the other...

2025 Marin Rift Zone EL 1 E-Bike
Vital Review
Overall Review
Marin is no stranger to the e-MTB market and just a few short years ago in 2021, their affordable, simple, fun Alpine Trail E2 was our favorite e-sled of the year. Not one to upset the apple cart, Marin continues their tradition of making bikes that won't break the bank while remaining enjoyable on the trail with the release of the Rift Zone EL line. The "Rifty" EL series use the lauded Bosch SX drive system with a 400wh CompactTube battery and is offered in three different builds. Prices are $6,999, $5,999 or $4,799, and when Marin reached out about a review, we asked for the budget-friendly...

2024 Norco Range VLT C1 E-Bike
Vital Review
Overall Review
2024 has brought big changes to Norco. After a few stale years post-COVID slowdown, they've revamped much of their line-up for this year. While some brands are cutting spending and trying to keep their heads above water, Norco has taken a bold approach and developed a whole bunch of new models. Included in this revitalization phase is a ground-up revision of the Range VLT. Norco has been investing heavily in high-pivot suspension designs, and the big-hitting e-bike is evidence of that. Going with a high-pivot idler pulley could be considered risky for a full-power e-bike, or it could also be...
