Stuttgart/Reutlingen—The smart system by Bosch eBike Systems—consisting of the new eBike Flow app, control unit, display, battery, and drive unit—ensures an individualized eBike experience. The new system generation combines technologically high-quality eBike components with the digital world, taking riding enjoyment in everyday life and in leisure time to the next level. “Digital features and services enrich the pedal-assist eBike experience and are important enablers for our mobile future in a connected world. With the smart system, we are taking another step toward the eBike mobility of tomorrow,” says Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems.
An overview of the smart system:
Smart, forward-looking and customizable: The eBike Flow app
Download to discover a uniquely connected experience. The eBike Flow app is the central connection to the eBike and the key to the connected biking experience. Over-the-air updates always keep the eBike up to date and continuously enhance the eBike experience with new, innovative features. The app lets you customize riding modes, record activities automatically, and integrate fitness apps such as Apple Health.
Intuitive, innovative, ergonomic: The LED Remote control unit
A fully connected control center that’s fun to use. The LED Remote can be operated easily, comfortably and intuitively with the thumb. Using different colors, the LEDs indicate the respective riding mode, which is easy to recognize while riding. It is also practical for those who want to be on the road without a display when eBiking: The LED Remote is sufficient to control the eBike system and displays the most important information about the eBike, such as the current charge status and support level. The LED Remote is connected with the eBike Flow app via Bluetooth and thus the Internet.
Stylish, robust, clear: The Kiox 300 display
A robust companion on sporty rides. The Kiox 300 display provides a clean eBike look on the handlebar and is easy to read in any riding situation. With the display, all relevant fitness data can be displayed to optimize your training. Through regular “over-the-air” updates, Kiox 300 will always stay current and promises a lot of fun on sporty rides or on the trail. The buttonless color display is controlled via the LED Remote and is connected to the eBike Flow app. Using the display holder, Kiox 300 can be ideally positioned on the handlebar according to the rider's preference.
Enduring, elegant, reliable: The PowerTube 750 battery
The new flagship rechargeable battery for long and challenging rides. The PowerTube 750 offers the maximum range in the current Bosch eBike battery portfolio and is optimally designed for many meters of climbing and even longer distances. The lithium-ion battery can be integrated into the eBike frame and is characterised by a particularly high energy density at a weight of approximately 4.4 kilograms. The PowerTube 750 can be charged to 50% in just over two hours and fully charged in about six hours using the 4A Charger.
Powerful, dynamic, individual: The Performance Line CX drive unit
A powerhouse among the drives. The powerful Performance Line CX drive unit provides a maximum of 85 Nm of torque for a natural, dynamic and unique riding experience. In the eBike Flow app, the strength of the support, dynamics, maximum speed and maximum torque can be individually set for the respective riding modes and perfectly adapted to your own riding style.
A glimpse into the future: Future optimization with the ConnectModule
In the future, eBike riders will also be able to benefit from further developments in the area of theft protection. eBike models that are ConnectModule ready can be retrofitted with the ConnectModule in the future. This means, for example, that the eBike can trigger an acoustic alarm to deter thieves and, in the event of theft, be tracked in the eBike Flow app. In addition, further functions will follow that can be used with the ConnectModule.

Smart, forward-looking and customizable: The eBike Flow app
With the smart system, Bosch eBike Systems creates the future of mobility.
- The new eBike Flow app is the central connection to the eBike and the key to the connected biking experience
- New functions can be loaded directly onto the eBike thanks to updates “over- the-air” and continuously enhance the eBike experience
- Digital features ensure that eBiking will be even safer, smarter and more individualized in the future
Stuttgart/Reutlingen—An eBike that evolves with the times and constantly offers new functions: what sounded like a distant vision of the future a few years ago is becoming reality with the eBike Flow app and the smart system from Bosch eBike Systems. The eBike Flow app is the central connection to the eBike, which can be enhanced in the future with new functions and additional digital services via over-the-air updates. “With the eBike Flow app and the smart system, we are continuously evolving the eBike experience and shaping the digital future of eBikes and micro-mobility,” says Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems.
Expanding the eBike
In the future, the eBike can be easily updated by the touch of a finger via the eBike Flow app. The updates are downloaded “over-the-air” from the Internet and transferred to the eBike via Bluetooth—conveniently from your smartphone. “This offers eBike riders significant added value. They can update their eBike at any time and equip it with new features that we will develop in the future. This means that the eBike can be enhanced even after purchase and that it stays current throughout its entire service life,” explains Fleischer.
Customizing the riding experience
Whether you’re on your way to work or on the trail over the weekend: To ensure that the eBike’s handling characteristics suit your riding style or the selected route, the available riding modes can be customized using the eBike Flow app. The strength of the support, dynamics, maximum speed and maximum torque of the drive can be flexibly adjusted to personal needs and requirements. The eBike Flow app is just as tailor-made in terms of design: It can be designed by the eBike manufacturer in their own look, allowing eBikers to always stay connected to their favorite brand.
Recording activities
Forgetting to start your ride on your connected devices is a thing of the past because you can always rely on the eBike Flow app: It automatically detects when the eBike ride starts. Simply get on the eBike, pedal away and the activities are recorded automatically. You don’t have to take out your smartphone at any time. The recorded activities include all relevant riding and fitness data which can be evaluated, exported or simply shared with Apple Health after the ride.
Everything at a glance
The eBike Flow app bundles all important information on the home screen—from the connection status of the eBike to the next service appointment and the current charge status of the battery. It also shows the total mileage of the drive and how it is distributed among the different riding modes.
“The initial functions of the eBike Flow app are just the beginning for us. In the future, many more features will follow that will make eBiking safer, smarter and more personalized,” says Fleischer. “In the further technical development of eBike components, optimizations can be expected in the coming years, but we will increasingly come up against physical limits. However, digitalization will open up countless new opportunities for us. Connected biking is becoming more and more important.”
The eBike Flow app will be available as a download for Android and iOS this fall. It will be supported in English, German and French. More languages will follow.
