Current bike came spec'd with the fancy new-ish wireless shifting system by sram. And boy do I hate it. I have given it a good shake, 10 months to be exact, but I'm ready to throw in the towel. I could list off the why's but I doubt yall want to hear it.
Thinking of going back to the ole reliable XT setup but I'm wondering, Is Shimano going to keep supporting cable derailleurs for their higher end group sets?

From the horses mouth (aka one of the Shimano category leads at the XTR launch in Tucson, I think it was Nick), “there will always be a place for cable XT drivetrains.” So I think you’re good for the foreseeable future.
My local bike shop just closed because they were tired of all the wireless this and that and the rise of E-bikes and I don't blame them. R.I.P. Trinity Cycles.
Our bike shops Love the Wireless stuff because theres so many issues with them an setup. they make good $$$ off them.
They also sell more ebikes than regular.
I have not received my new bike yet.. but it comes with transmission XO and AXS reverb.. already have a shopping cart with an Eagle 90 derailleur and shifter.. I think its the most efficient route, from a Shimano fanboy... oh, and also have a oneup dropper on the parts bin, waiting to be fitted ; )
The problem with 12 speed shimano deraillers is that they seem to desintegrate if there's a single blade of grass a feet away..
Is GX Eagle done and dusted now with T-type Eagle 90 being out? and IIRC Eagle 90 trigger is kinda horrible and more of a NX rather than a nicer group?
XO transmission setup with X01 shifter and derailleur for over a year has been the most reliable system I've ever used. requires a slight modification on the UDH so the small cog doesn't rub and works best with quick single shifts (like an e-bike) as that's what the chain and cassette are optimized for.
strange fetish, but ok
I am very curious about this setup! Is there more info available somewhere? Thanks
Can you use any other SRAM mech shifters with Eagle 90?

I've done all of the above: robots, 90, and X0 on t-type cassette/chain with a ground-down UDH (Hall-locked). They all work great.
The SRAM 90 shifter is just fine, I've got no complaints with it. I sold off my robot derailleur and went to the 90 T-Type mostly due to shifter ergonomics (my brain couldn't get locked in with good muscle memory on the pod), but also becasue of battery forgetfulness. I'm a big fan of the mechanical T-Type.
I like deore derailleur/cassette with xt shifter. But the deore shifter works well. Just a bit slower. Seems a bit more reliable than the xt stuff based on mine and my friends experiences.
Thanks for the replies dudes! Now does anyone want to buy a used AXS setup?
