ZMC888 Added a reply to Only one w/out dropper post????!!

I'm about to buy my 3rd post...if you do get one some tips.... Buy the most reliable on you can get. Most seem to survive about 3-12 months and many aren't user serviceable. They often develop problems such as side to side play and rise and lower failures. They are a convenience, not a tool, it depends on your terrain...

Vegas Jekyll Rider Liked a product review Great Tires for the Desert

5/24/2015 6:30am
If you have ever ridden in the desert, you know that there just never seems to be the right tire. Tires that are tough with good sidewalls have huge lugs and roll like a tank. Tires with low lugs are so flimsy the razor sharp rocks and spiny cacti kill them in a few rides. When I was riding 26" wheels I had found a few tires that help up to these conditions well, but when I got my new bike with 27.5" wheels I struggled to find some tread that would last. I went through Hans Damphs, Continental Xkings...

Yeah right, I ride 5 times a week, if I kept the bike that clean I'd hardly ever have the time to ride it.

Weston Walker Liked a product review MRP Stage 160 mm 26/27.5

by Weston Walker Ok…so this is the part of the review where I’m “supposed” to discuss all the technology inside the MRP Stage. I’m going to go ahead and skip that and get right down to the question a review is “supposed” to answer, and that is “Does the product work?” I just don’t see the point of regurgitating something you can read on the manufacturer’s website. This is not a slam at MRP because this product is jammed full of patented technology, but in all honesty so is every other product on the market. So does it work? The...

ZMC888 Added a reply to Overpriced MTB products?

7/7/2014 9:34pm
The reason some products are overpriced is simple, we the consumers are ignorant idiots, and will happily pay massively higher prices than the actual cost price because we believe that this means the product will perform better or be safer and have no clue about the costs of materials. What could be better for a manufacturer? Sell more product the...

NAYR Liked a product review Another Dropper Post

5/16/2014 9:15am
Over the past few years, X-Fusion has made quite a stir in the MTB suspension industry. These days, when one considers a new fork or shock, the name X-Fusion usually comes up in a conversation along with the major players like Fox Racing Shox, and Rock Shox when discussing suspension options. Given my friend’s raving reviews about X-Fusion’s forks, and the usual customer service benefit of dealing with a smaller company, I figured I would give their new dropper post, the HILO SL 125mm, a try on my trail bike. The Hilo SL has a claimed weight of 450g without...

SuboptimusPrime Liked a product review The standard

The DHF has been my go-to front tire on my trail bike (2.35 single ply) and I've used it extensively as both front/rear on my DH bike (2.5 3C). To me the most important part of a tire is predictability--and that predictability is why I keep running the DHF year after year. It may be that there are tires more suited to a particular condition, that are lighter or roll better. However, I don't change tires based on conditions except to switch to spikes when things are really muddy. For me, the DHF works well enough in any condition, although...
