TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic Tire chat (nerds only)
6/29/2025 1:25pm I go back and forth between those exact two tires as my rear tire on different wheelsets ( Continental Kryptotal rear DH SS vs. Maxxis DHRII DH 2.5) and I have to run 3-4 psi more on the Conti to get the same ride feel, no folding in turns, not dinging rims or bottoming out tires. It just seems like the Conti DH casing is a little more pliable. YMMV. And yes, you heard right, the slow tire wear on the rear SS Conti is pretty great. I'm trying out a Maxxis DHRII DH 2.5 in MaxxTerra to see if...

6/28/2025 7:01pm I hate that this is the case, but even in bigger sports they don't care. Look at tennis, Zverev beat up not one but two partners and zero reprimand. Formula 1, the Horner situation. There's so many instances of this in the top tier of sports in the world and nothing happens.

6/28/2025 6:57pm They should cut to commercial during Daprela's run instead of riders like Antoine Rogge that actually deserve the coverage.

6/27/2025 6:31pm The crown on Podium is hollowed out. We tested multiple variants with more and less material removed, that's how we settled on the exact amount of hollowing there is on the production fork. We refer to these holes as "lightening bores". As Charlie noted, we were chasing the sweet spot of stiffness to satisfy our pro athletes and weight was a secondary concern. Some other USD forks on the market are lighter and while they may work well for many people out there, they are not being raced by the best riders at the highest level. We chose the name...

6/27/2025 12:04pm Code calipers have bigger pistons for more power and a bigger pad opening for more cooling if I’m remembering right. I run Code R with 200mm 2mm thick Magura rotors on my hardtail and they work pretty good. Not as good as the MT7 setup did with the same rotors… but it’s what I got right now.

6/24/2025 9:05am And the new Shimano mtb shoes are $200. $2,000 for a fork seems… reasonable? God I hate how that feels to say.

6/22/2025 9:01am Hey, I’m Ryan Burney. I’ve been engineering bikes for 8 years, and this is a breakdown of what I’ve learned starting my own small business, Rim Saver. In this post, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned while launching a product business in the bike world. What worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do differently. If it helps even one person take the leap or avoid a mistake, it’ll be worth it. Background I made the first version of Rim Saver in college. The idea started out as a beadlock concept, then evolved into a beadlock with rim protection, then just rim...
