Way too much inside jokes and interrupting. I'm sure it's all great for people that follow them, but not really an "inside line" episode

These 3 don't do it for me. Maybe I have high expectations after 3+ years of very interesting VitalMTB podcats with spomer but this one is below the quality bar for me. The weird teenage banter, inside joke rambing combined with no structre and little insight from an athlete pov ... I switched off after 15min. Inside line and Needles show how it's done for WCs.

Some of us here in the alps do not use trains (or cable lifts) or shuttle services (for day to day riding), i.e. we pedal, have tried e-MTBs and see no reason at all to switch to them. The power is a quickly wearing off gimmick (it was meh after about 15 minutes of turbo mode), they are heavier, much more expensive, require more expensive maintenance and they ride down hill much worse than proper bikes do. We have a serious eBike problem here in Jersey. There aren't any "official" trails - its all semi-unofficial shared use cliff paths and woods. The eBikers are creating new lines uphill and causing massive erosion. So much so that they are risking our access completely. Obviously not all eBikers are causing this, but the ones that are are doing it in a very publicly visible way. Unfortunately due to ridiculous politics, we can't get involved in trail maintenance so can't mitigate. Are there any other places that are facing similar issues.

Jeff, with all due respect, do you really find the word "laughable" to be offensive? Do you ever laugh? Do you understand the difference between laughing at someone and laughing at something? I gotta go ride, so this is the last thing I'll say... I think people sometimes jump to the conclusion that big tech is suppressing or censoring certain voices, when it's more likely those voices/opinions are just not all that popular.

OMG, never in a million years did I think you'd post a long reply to this. So you're saying that if you post relatively unpopular content, you'll get fewer likes and interactions? Shocker. It doesn't matter if it's "political" -- for example, I got into gravel in the last year and started posting more gravel content. Then my average post likes started going down...because my audience isn't as into gravel as I am. That's not some nefarious plot by Instagram, like Gwin was implying. "Big tech" may be left-leaning, but the most popular, highest-performing Facebook posts are consistently right...

Gwin has incredible talent, drive, and a serious work ethic. I still remember watching him ride and race in-person in late '00s and early '10s, and being absolutely blown away by what I was seeing. I hope he returns to the top of the sport, and I'll be cheering for him every run. But, the whole part where he was insinuating that Instagram was suppressing his reach because of his beliefs was pretty laughable. C'mon bruh.

Gonna be some fortunate people to get this for a first bike or first serious mtb. Very little to complain about.

A week ago we set out to build whole new trail in one day, 500m(1500ft) vertical using few existing paths in the begining and in the end, but completely new in between. It doesnt have a single berm or any significant jump and the only digging was few bike lengths of rocky offcamber, rest was just removing small trees and bushes, cuting the grass and removing the lose rocks... Next morning one of the biggest local advocate of smoothen everything (ofc rides ebike) went to check it out and his comment was "some digging required to make this trail rideable!"...

Land managers are very, very scared of letting experienced trail builders do their own thing versus following the ol IMBA model. This isn't going away, and its good everyone is bringing this up. Negativity isn't always great, but managers and builders need to be reminded that switchbacks are shitty trail designs, berms need to be steep and push you all the way through the turn, and letting stuff get ridden in like a DH track is the best way to make dynamic and interesting trails. The primary point I agree with is the failure to follow the natural contour of the terrain. If you do this well you shouldn't need to build up terrain to manage traffic. At one of my local spots they're starting to bring in machinery and they are totally missing the beautiful natural lines and instead just smashing their way through the woods. Machine built trails are much harder to get right than natural trails, and while huge berms are fun, if the shape and placement aren't just right, then they're way less fun than a natural trail.
