Cascade Components prototype link for the Transition Sentinel. On stock stroke the link will provide 145mm at a 20% progression rate and 157mm with a 60mm stoke damper. Yessir!

I agree with you but when the 40mm Totem was in full swing, the Boxxer was still on 32mm.

Yeah it would be surprising to see the introduction of a 38 single crown without them doing the same to the boxxer, although they did do that in the past with the Totem so who knows!? The Ohlins DH fork is 38 already if I'm not mistaken?

Pike since a few years (since the introduction of the new arch) is marketed as an AM fork, when the Lyrik (at 150 and 160mm) is their enduro fork, a little beefier (and with Charger damping too). So with Charger damping Rock Shox stops at 160mm (when the Motion Control ones, from Revelation to 35, are on 120 to 160mm...

Tried Schwalbe Magic Mary front and rear. That is AWESOME in downhill and enduroing, but it lacks a little efficiency if you want to preserve (a little...) your lungs in climbs. I tried Maxxis HR2 front and rear (DH casing, ST) : that's a big NO for me. There is a whole range of angle where there is an evident...
Ho ! forgot about reach extender ! It is just 5mm more reach, but with tapered fork pivot it comes in ZS44/EC56, so it is 5mm more reach AND 0,5° head angle less. When you have all the aforementionned items but the geo is not that great...
I'd say grippy and bomb-proof tires (Schwalbe Magic Mary Bikepark few years ago, now Schwalbe Magic Mary and Hans Dampf in Supergravity case). Then reliable and powerful brakes (Magura MT5 is my go-to since a few years). Then stiff and with great damping forks (there are relatively good forks, ie. RS 35, or a little costlier : Pike Select that...

Inspected both my bottom bracket and headset today which have been in since 2013. The headset & head/steerer tube were all in nearly pristine condition so just cleaned, re-lubed (greased), and dropped 'em right back in. The bottom bracket was also very clean though the bearings were suspect so we took 'em out; cleaned up the bottom bracket shell; and pressed in some new bearings from Primo. We messed around with spacers/washers until we lined up the chain-line nicely as it had been off by a few mm before causing some minor occasional chain-rub noise that was driving me nuts...

So the circle is complete now. Few weeks ago there was a story on Chromag's IG showing us a great looking 3D printed BB/shock junction. I drooled on my keyboard. Now that. Guess my bank account isn't safe anymore.

The internet told me you can't win races on an aluminum frame or 27.5 wheels. I guess Amy didn't get the message...

Surely fork companies could make room for that extra stuff higher up by extending the stanchions up to around the height of the top of the head tube; then you could even connect those two extensions with an extra crown or something and even maybe mount the stem to it.

I think Barel and Canyon were working on a remote activated device that would disengage the hub from the freehub body and giving the "chainless" performance. Guess it never materialized...

You can also buy the base Bontrager Line Comp rear wheel, spend $20 for the extra 3 pawls and have a fast engaging hub and whole wheel for under $200. Not light, but pretty solid for the price.
