cool to see anna newkirk gaining some ground. still a ways out, but last year vali was like 18 seconds up. now, she's 9. stoked for charlie harrison and his consistency this year so far, too!

Why hasn't a camera company embedded an inclinometer that displays real-time slope information? Even the Tour de France hasn't done this yet; how can I tell how steep a climb/DH is when there's no reference? The only way to tell is by comparing the perpendicularity of the trees relative to the trail. A little graphic in the corner showing a location dot and the preceding slope would be cool. That being said, it's a good thing the trail in this video is awesome, because that hellscape scenery is straight out of a Fallout video game.

Jolanda didn't just win, she absolutely crushed it. The only racer with a sub-4min time in the women open category. I really hope there's a bike check coming up. I'd be very interested to know which enduro bike she used (photo shows a single crown fork). She's on Trek so I'm betting she's on a Slash.

For me, this article highlights the fact that there should be a better payout to at least share a bit of the profit from the races, and those payouts should go a bit deeper in the field. Lets say you make the cut in the world cup, race in the top 20 or 25 qualifiers, and get RedBull TV coverage. You end up 11th, the payout is exactly $0 according to this. A dual crown fork typically has a shorter axle to crown measurement than a single crown (of the same travel), so I think 180 dual crown might keep geometry nice and a little more precise. Only drawback I see with the dual crown is weight, or turning tight, both of which are 100% irrelevant in this application.

A different (lesser) media source mentioned that SRAM will release pricing for individual components in about 4 weeks. This option is appealing -even as a shimano loyalist- if I'm not locked into the stupid $ that SRAM's asking for cassettes and chains. If they can offer the RD and shifter for under $750 I bet they'll sell boatloads as an aftermarket upgrade.
