Ouch, pretty savage to rag on the front end that hard without addressing fork tune or cockpit setup in any detail. I mean maybe 66 degrees and 44mm offset is some magically awful combo, but I kinda doubt it. With the note about head tube length, seems like adjusting bar height or fork sag would at least be a starting point for discussion and analysis, whatever the result.

Looks like there's a little dogbone link that connects below the link pivot andd below the swingarm pivot. That way the swingarm is pulling back on the bottom of the link. Nice, clean, way to get a progressive curve and low mounted mass. Hard to tell but swingarm pivot seems to be well-placed, too. With it right next to the tire like that you can get a negative slope to the antisquat curve. 10/10 would ride, though the heel clearance looks a bit lacking.

He wasn't complaining about his lot in life, he was saying that building a composites factory from scratch is very difficult and the ROI is limited when you can't instantly scale volume in the far east, which is all true. Have you tried? $4k frames aren't my thing, but I can appreciate the level of design and detail he brings to these projects.

I find the 'more laps, more fun' argument a cheap cop out for e-bikes. I wanna go to Mt. Everest during my lunch break. Why can't I? Huh?? Plus who says you're not going to be sweaty from a MTB ride. By that logic, go for an MX run, you'll be able to sleep half the way through it! I think all the rage about e-bikes comes from an instant gratification culture we're living in. Want more laps but don't want to get tired? Want more laps in the lunch break? Aren't in shape and want to keep up with...

Freedom and equality really means the right to rip as much trail as possible. You can pry my e-bike from my aging, wrinkled hands. I won't be denied a reprisal of my youthful reality. That's what Ms. Rosa Parks was going on about, right?

this already exists. If you're legit ADA you can already take motorized wheelchairs/adaptive devices in many places. the access argument gets awkward with e-bikes though, because they require balance and some strength to ride, so what we're then saying is that everyone legally deserves to have a certain quality of experience as we age, rather than pure access, which might not be compatible with realities of life. it's different than ADA, which serves to help disabled/mobility-impaired people from becoming second class citizens.

oh boy, the derivative bike slam is getting old. i think we're 10 years past the point of bike design where everything is pretty much going to look like everything else. saw another post where the dude must've bike checked like 15 brands. ok dude, so you have awesome observational powers and memorized the entire Wikipedia page on Kinematics, wow.

traildog Added a reply to Discussion: Fork Damping vs Spring Rate

7/23/2019 1:04pm
Well, I have a Yari with luftkappe, so it's basically all spring Smile . I should have upgraded the damper instead of the spring first, as the luftkappe was rather expensive for still being stuck with a pretend damper, but that's not a knock on the luftkappe; it does what it says it does. Maybe a touch progressive for my taste...

Scary rubber though. Great tread pattern, nice casing, good size, great price- everything is perfect except for the super springy rubber. Would run it on the rear for sure, never again on the front.
