Shimano likes to take its sweet time developing products. It’s kinda their shtick. The best (current) example of their conservative innovation is the Saint gravity line—it turned 16 this year. If a Saint derailleur could drive, it would, in 2026. A new Saint groupset is surely on the horizon based on the volume of prototype parts hanging from bikes at the first World Cup . Another Montana Enduro organizer here. The short answers are yes and yes. This is exactly what the Montana Enduro Series does for the Montana Bicycle Guild: The MES raises money for MBG's trail work and trail advocacy. Every penny from the MES goes back into the nonprofit trail org. we've used this model since 2014. Montana Enduro director here. This idea has legs. Last year our local course (Helenduro) was shorter than I've done for a while. We don't provide any uplift at this race, so it's all earned. Last year was five stages in 14 miles, with 2,700 climbing. I wasn't in love with the course, but everyone told me it was one of their favorites, even long-time repeat racers. This is more of a direct comment for Race Cascadia. Could you look into partnering with the WSCL and creating an enduro style race during the XC race weekend, maybe on Saturday after the practice lap time slot? It wouldn’t have to be at every race but a good number of the race venues are right next to some killer enduro trails. Some that come to mind are Cle Elum, Leavenworth, Winthrop/Loup Loup, etc. I think this would really boost the stoke for the kids and draw more interest into Enduro.
