From my experience on a few different mullet bikes, the mullet stuff does handle smaller. It is an odd thing though, I feel perfect setup has a lot to do with tires. on a same sized wheel bike, typically 27.5 or 29", I'd run a 2.4 or 2.5 front, and 2.3 or something on the rear. I want a little more front grip than rear, as I don't want to end up on my face. The mullet bikes seem very different for what is best for me though. I didn't want it to end this way, but this is the way it happened. I'm picky about my brakes, and I've been searching for a good setup for a while. I liked the Codes just fine, but there is a lot of lever throw for my preference. I've been able to shorten the throw of the brakes, but it would inevitably reset back to normal after a few rides.
