Good for gravel/road bikes too where you want a little room to move but still able to put some power down on the pedals.

I threw the 110mm version of this on my Surly Bridgeclub and transformed my road-ish commuter into a whole new bike, much more capable of hucking curbs and the occasional singletrack adventure. I'm 5'-9" on a medium frame, and although 110mm doesn't sound like much in the modern world of +200mm posts (one of which I happily run on my MTB ), it exceeded my expectations as far as the difference in stability with the post up/down. Garbaruk mentioned that they had a defective batch, got a replacement shipped in a week. I had the same considerations regarding xtr cassette, but that's just ever so slightly too expensive for my taste 😁. Yeah in terms of looks nothing beats the garbaruk! And as i said I am more than happy with how it performs. Backpaddeling also works fine

Troubles with the manufacturing of the cassette or something else? Asking because I tried an eThirteen Helix cassette mated to XT bits for the weight/cost savings. Never could get it quite right and, most annoyingly, it would jump from 1st to 2nd when in 1st and I'd backpedal ever so slightly (especially aggravating when I'd come to the top of a climb in 1st). Went back to full XT but wouldn't mind shaving weight on the next setup and am considering something similar to what you're running instead of forking over the extra money for XTR. Plus, the Garbaruk stuff...

At first I had some troubles, but Garbaruk exchanged the cassette without question, and now it is 90% flawless
I would say Shimano has a slight edge with silent clean shifting, but garbaruk comes damn close! Better than the sram gx axs on my buddies bikes

I have a tendency to keep buying bikes with a Yoke driven clevis, as a result of my fine decision, I've blown up my fair share of shocks. Specialized Enduro EVO - Several Ohlins TTX22M's, mostly seal head failures, one snapped shaft. Surprising considering the damper shaft thickness on them (Yoke driven clevis) Specialized Demo 8 Sworks (2018) - Again, TTX22M's, only one failure, the shock actually un-threaded from itself! I snapped 3 of those frames lol, so shocks weren't all my problems, The rose joints (bearing eyelet) popped out constantly. I ended up going back to standard bushing/spacer arrangement...

There really isn't anything that touches this bike (or the 140 version) for the price. As for any drivetrain/future proof concerns I would have like to have seen Speshy use a Microshift 10 speed 1x, but you can always do that later. The Microshift stuff is lighter than any of the base level stuff from big red or blue, works great and is a screaming deal. Juan Velez who took 2nd and 5th at Red Bull Monserrate and Val Pairaiso respectively rode this bike smoking riders who were on bikes that cost thousands more.
