ArmyB Added a comment about product review Bomber Air

There was only one sentence in the article addressing your question. And the short answer is no it is not a a Float x with aesthetic changes, it has different internals. I would have liked to go into much more detail but the information was not available. Here is that excerpt for this article: “And although we don’t know a whole lot of detail about the Bomber’s inner workings, Marzocchi has made it clear that the internals are unique to this shock.” Thanks for the comment!

Whenever I see or hear about the Status, I automatically think of Switzb15! Thanks for the feedback on the Process review and your question about the shootout, Ryan. A shootout out like you are describing would be fantastic. I will defer to the overlords of shootout production for an answer!

switzb15 Liked a comment about product review Vital Review - Kona Process 153 DL 29

Very thorough review John! Definitely a bit bias here as a Status owner but with the other Vital review that came out this week on the Status 160 - a very comparable bike geometry, use, and (arguably) intended audience-wise for 2/3 the cost - it seems to me that the Big S is far ahead of the game in this market. The mullet setup won't be for everyone but a 29" rear wheel will fit for those that are interested: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/2021-specialized-status.1145425/page-22 With these two reviews coming out so close together is there any chance Vital is putting together a budget...

I’ve logged a lot of rides on a Kona process 153 and tested the Canfield for a few months. I’d say the that the Canfield suspension platform is way more supple and active. Sometimes I feel like my Kona is more nappy in corners, but I also have more time on the hike to develop that skill. I don’t have any experience with banshee bikes yet.

No, I did not add any spacers. I'm glad you asked because I double checked and I was actually closer to 135 psi. I started at 125 psi and went up. At 135 psi the shock sits right around 30% sag when I am carrying a loaded hip bag with full water bottle on the bag as well. We went ahead and corrected that in the review. In the Cane Creek manual it recommends starting at 75% of rider weight. For me that would actually be around 124 psi. So, while the Tilt did like more pressure, so to speak...

Do it! The Tilt is definitely fun, it's a two-wheeled party!

This is and has been the format and wording of every Vital review for quite a long time. WE are Vital.

Canfield bikes have kicked ass forever. I have a 2013 Yelli Sceamy that still gets used regularly because it's so much fun. This sounds like a fun addition to the stable

Good review, apart from the "We" pronouns through out the review... were there two reviewers?

I have a Lithium, and opted for the Fidlock bottle on the downtube. I can easily reach down and grab it while climbing, it clips back into place when I am in the general vicinity of the mount, the covered lid prevents the bottle nipple from being covering in crap, and it stayed on without issue on pretty much every Whistler bike park trail. Not an issue.

If I could stuff a water bottle in the front triangle they would have my money.

I totally get that, but I think having it under the down tube is better than not having it. I carried a bottle on my hip bag most of the time and when I needed two bottles I used the cage. Besides, it blocks all of the dirt from getting your down tube dirty…lol.

Great review. Such a shame that Canfield don't have a UK distributor anymore as this bike/frame would be perfect for me.

Nice review, good to see the stuff from the smaller, home grown bike builders.

This bike is a blast to ride. You really should try it with the EXt suspension though. Unreal how capable it is.
