Yes, the Marzocchi fork/shock alone are about 2 lbs heavier than the stock Fox combo would have been, but so far I will take the weight penalty for the increased performance of the double coil setup. In my opinion, combining the coil suspension with the small rear wheel and short rear end of this bike you get the best of both worlds: super supple off the top and still really poppy and playful. I was going for durability over anything else with this build; hence, the not-so-light wheel/tire combo as well.

Ah, that makes sense. The KMC chain is per the eThirteen cassette compatability guidance: KMC is "recommended" while a Shimano chain is only "compatible".

It's really only Shimano with an eThirteen cassette. The shifter is XTR instead of XT because there were no more XTs in stock and I had an XTR laying around. I chose the eThirteen cassette for more range at less weight and half the cost of an XT/XTR cassette. So far so good on the two test rides as far as shifting performance 🤘

nice one, but why did you choose a drivetrain from 3 different manufacturers?! I`m sure this doesn´t shift as good as if everything was from one company.
