TEAMROBOT Liked a comment about video ROCK-SMASHING DH! Vital RAW - Lenzerheide World Cup

These are so much better than any other DH media out there. It's like being at the race. I know the six minute version is "more boring" than the shorter, more intense Vital RAW of the past, but getting to see rider after rider trying the same section gives a much more accurate representation of what downhill racing is. It's methodical, it's repetitive, it's intellectual, and yeah, it's kind of boring when you're watching trackside. Hell, it's actually kind of boring when you're racing. A lot of the time is spent sitting and waiting, or talking, or hiking. DOWNHILL FOREVER

Motocross riders often swap triple clamps to adjust their offset (and in turn their weight bias). Similar deal here.

Dang, helluva memory! Just googled that up, and you're quite correct - that was something I hadn't recalled and slipped through the research cracks. Olivier Bossard was the man behind Nico Vouilloz's suspension while Max Commencal was the Sunn team manager, and a decade later the same guys were the ones behind the overnight air can volume increase for Remi's bike after the data showed the need for more progression. Great insight Fab, thanks for the reminder!

Just to clarify why Brook crashed: a mechanical locked up his rear wheel under braking and pitched him off the bike out of a compression as he approached the knuckle of the roll-over.

Jordie is what mountain biking deserves. What a badass. That road gap...*eyes bulge*

sideshow Added a comment about video Greg Minnaar is on Another Level - Fort William Winning Run

Yes and no. Yes, because Minnaar had won here 6 times already, and two in a row until this run. No, because he won by almost three seconds and it looked startlingly effortless (which is of course not true, but visually it was impressive), and his rolling speed/momentum was also something that could be seen. On a related note: this is insanely impressive to watch. I was floored when I watched this the first time...and always will be.
