One of the reasons I am a Gwin fan is because his attitude is so casual about racing. I think its awesome that a dude that has killed it as hard as he has says that 'Its just racing bikes'. at the end of the day he's right, a good result racing doesn't cure cancer or save orphans or do anything super meaningful for anyone. it may make everyone want to buy a particular bike though...

I came to a much different conclusion from that video than you did. Here's what I got from it: qualifying was a wake up (the competition has stepped it up), the race didn't go as he hoped, he's not going to let his results get to him in a negative way, he's motivated to do better, and he's going to focus on the next race and look forward to that.

People love to hate on Gwin but thats the price you pay when your the best rider. He didn't have a terrible run, just not the scortcher we used to seeing. Lots of competition in top 20 riders ad today Gee was thefastest on 26s btw ad who cares about what bike ayone riders anyway. Its not the bike, its the pilot.

Hill was actually the fastest between split 1 and split 2, which is a little over 3 minutes.. I think he really is on the hunt. Can't wait for Val di Sole, hope he puts a 08 world champs run next weekend...

That wasn't a case of a certain bike frame being "slow", but rather a case of some good old fashioned racing. I think you will see a very hungry Aaron Gwin at Val di Sole next weekend.

Yeah Barel was on his proto 650b, but he won last week on the 26". The results here basically confirm to me that 650B is way over-hyped. Speaking of hype, check out Fab's comments on fork technology in the DirtTV pre-race vid. Good stuff!
