In my industry (telecommunications) LOI's, at the end of the day, really dont mean shit. Its exactly that - a LETTER OF INTENT. Intent to sign, but doesnt mean they will... Its not a contract. Comon Trek, give it up. All you're doing is succeeding in giving both yourselves AND Gwin a black eye.

What does Whiteley expect at this point? For Gwin to come running back with open arms? Obviously he was looking for a change of scenery because the money had to be pretty good at Trek. Even if legal action were to bring him back to TWR, there's no way he could perform at his best with that much tension surrounding the team. Trek had their run, now its Speshis turn. Maybe he'll get them to finally lengthen that chainstay so Troy will stop washing out and breaking himself.

You are all forgetting what "pro racing" is. The only reason there is a class above Expert is so that the competitors can act as sport and brand ambassadors. For that, they get paid enough money to try to keep them visible as ambassadors. Because it is still a competitive sport, and because the pro level is for people who would otherwise be the best of the experts, you have to pay people enough to make it worth their time to not only be better than the world's amateur racers, but also be a public figure. Because pros stitch together...
