There doesn’t have to be a transition away from an extraction economy just one that is driven by greed and an aversion to science based management. I agree with what @ebruner is saying here. The secret to happiness when you only have a one or two bike quiver is to have an alternate-personality wheelset ready to go- XC one day, enduro the next. Or trail one day, DH the next. Changing tires all the time gets old fast. Having a spare aluminum wheelset with tires, rotors, and a cassette mounted is way more fun, and it's still a lot cheaper than having a whole other bike. And it takes up less space, too.

I'm down to just big travel eeb and steel hardtail now. I don't regret my decision. Polar opposites in bikes but I can get my fix from either depending on the mood.

Neko Mulally won the DH on his freak bike with 32" front wheel w/ XC racing slick. - https://results.raceroster.com/v3/events/ajsmbwfa6za9y9np - chatting with him at dinner the other night (before the race), all he cared about was rolling speed. cornering knobs were "good enough" and if he could manage the off-camber after the uphill on the course, the rest was basically going straight and fast. seems like his strategy paid off.

Back at it again with my horrendous image measurements, this time something actually bicycle related. I took the shock eye to eye of 225mm and zoomed in super close to align it to the centre of the shock bolts and scaled the image until the measurement was exactly 225. I drew a line to the middle of the shimano crank spindle and the middle of the rear thru-axle (also zoomed in until my eyes were bleeding to estimate the centre as best as possible). Unfortunately I'm an idiot, so I'll answer your question even if it is sarcastic. I found a known value that's easy to measure, the rear brake rotor. I set it to 203mm (as mentioned in a bike check from my memory) 16.2cm = 6.377 inch, rounded up however the app used rounds things and also not a perfect angle. Closest match for phone size would be a Iphone 16/17 pro max at 16.3 cm or a google pixel 9/10 at 6.3 inches. I'm going to go with the iphone 16/17 pro max. I should touch grass. Dude. Just buy one. The motors are easily as durable as any of the other stuff in this hobby. If you’ve accepted that you can put a catastrophic scratch on a fork stanchion pulling your bike out of the garage, blow up a wheel at the trailhead kiosk, and get broke off on a green trail, the motors are just fine.
