I'm totally with you here, but also totally biased, since I have always liked Intense, but never been a fan of Gwin. To me the Intense team of the last two years was the most fun out there: scoring good results with young guns, obvious chemistry among them, some stunning progressive bikes (one of the first to put out 29ers etc.) and always looking fresh in those loud TLD kits, because who the hell else was going to wear grey and purple polka dots anyway? We will miss this team, mark my words! Now compare the above with Gwin and...

Can't say I am that surprised that Miranda is gone. She did some big things domestically but never did much on the WC, she had 1 top 10 this year and ended 14th overall out of a field of 30. And lets be honest, she won world champs on luck when every top rider crashed out and the UCI screwed up Myriam Nicole's timing.

I heard all this Syndicate banter is that they're dropping CLIF as a sponsor and picking up Kendall Jackson. Rumor is that there will be a signature Greg Minnaar pre-race red blend (some sort of Pinot Noir/Syrah combo) and Syndicate post-race sparkling. Guess it took a while for Loris to get on board with an American wine company but they figured it out.

I definitely lean towards the "hoping it was an accident / didn't know etc". I don't know how I would feel if it was from two riders that I didn't like very much however. Hard to tell whether my bias is coming from liking the Richie and Jared. I just really hope that this doesn't fuck with Jared's head too much during his chemo etc. Having stuff like this pulling you down when you need all the strength you can muster would be tough...

But if you're naturally very mesomorphic like Rude, what you would need is more oxygen uptake to enable you to compete with more typical physiques like Hill, Dailly, etc in endurance cycling disciplines. Moving that much mass around is going to take a lot of oxygenated blood to sustain high output.

The last two years proved that, most days, he couldn't do that. Hill being the champ and all.
