Thank you very much for the link, but i'm loving my Reverb on my Large frame (which should probably be an XL or the Reverb a 420 mm version instead of the 380 mm).

What are the lengths of the extended post for different travels? Anybody know that? That 100 mm version might be good for smaller riders with small frames.

They can. Just like drastic changes, perceivable from 50 meters away, can have no effect at all on the way a bike rides. To me it seems like an evolution, even though the bike looks completely new. I wouldn't be surprised if the swingarm and the seatstays are identical to the old ones, though changes here are easily made due to them being aluminium (for now, the old production bike was all carbon). I wouldn't be surprised if the front triangle is largely the same layup wise with just some strengthening around the shock mount and changed cable routing. The...

So, identical front triangle to the old one (with some numbers adjusted i'd say) with a moved shock mount, identical rear swingarm and a slight difference in the linkage then?

So thinner plates and narrower pins (that do not look out from the plate) are the only differences in this case?

I think that means the chainring will work with 1x11 systems. As for the cranks, most of Sram's cranks feature a removable spider. Everything from the S1400 series and up. Even most new Descendant cranks feature this as well. You remove the spider by undoing three torx bolts and mount that chainring in the same place. You can put on a direct mount chainring, a 1x, 2x or a 3x spider.

The chain is narrower, though it isn't said if it's just the overall width (like 11spd vs. 10spd for Sram, they just thinned the plates) or the inner gaps as well. If it's the latter, then most likely no, they are not compatible. Well, maybe, depends on the ring. Someone will surely test it out.

The gold cassette is just one option. Why do people love to throw about the strong legs argument? Break a leg, better yet, break both legs in a complicated manner so you'll be bed ridden for 2 months or so. Then tell me about strong legs. (i know, wishing injuries to other people isn't nice, but in some cases people need to experience the other side to realize there is another side to the story. Also, I was just put in a bad mood because of similar comments on the same topic on another site. People really can't see further...

BTW, there's a VERY good point to go with these 1x drivetrains, starting with Sram's 1x11 and being exacerbated by 1x12. The chainrings in the front are, relatively speaking, HUGE! We used to granny up the hills with 22t rings, now we do it with 28, 30, 32 and sometimes larger rings for 1x11, all of this increased by ~4 teeth with 1x12. A 22-36 ratio would be exchanged with a 32-50 (with Eagle), providing an only slight increase in ratio (the gear getting heavier), but at the same time this lowers the forces in the chain by almost 50...

Get a new bike? Honestly though, i'd say most 2x bikes are somewhere in between, where they don't pedal ideally in the larger or the smaller cog. 1x gets right in the middle (with a 30, in the middle between a 24-36 2x system). Eagle gets even closer to the 2x ratios with a 34 front chainring being similar to the 30 on Sram's 11 speed groups.

Saw the leaks, read that the leaks were correct, read the intro, and all i can say is: I NEED THIS!!
Seriously, is there one single (real) benefit of riding a front derailleur?
