11/26/2018 5:59pm Of all the nails on this board, you hit a good one right on the head... I have been around for long enough to know better than to stick my hand in the fire for anybody... Some of us apparently haven't seen as much in their time...

11/26/2018 5:55pm Seems even WADA disagrees with you there. Both of these are listed as specified substances. This is to recognize the possiblity of a substance to enter an athletes body inadvertenly, and therefore allow a tribunal more flexibility when making a sanctioning decision. EG: not all doping is equal. Am I the only one who sees the world as shades of grey? Lol. If nothing else, this is an interesting thought experiment in judgement. Some people are far more black and white than others. I've noticed this in other situations like this, most notably the #metoo movement, whereby everyone named was...

11/26/2018 5:52pm I definitely lean towards the "hoping it was an accident / didn't know etc". I don't know how I would feel if it was from two riders that I didn't like very much however. Hard to tell whether my bias is coming from liking the Richie and Jared. I just really hope that this doesn't fuck with Jared's head too much during his chemo etc. Having stuff like this pulling you down when you need all the strength you can muster would be tough...

11/26/2018 5:51pm Please explain then, why caffeine is allowed? It has been shown to improve performance and is a drug... How about a supplement such as magnesium. Again, proven to improve performance, and in this case is a "supplement". There are hundreds of compounds that could be considered "performance enhancing". Some have been allowed and will continue to be allowed. Some were allowed, now are not allowed. Some were never allowed. Its not as straight forward as you are making it out to be. Again, you keep arguing why I shouldn't rationalize my take all the while doing very little to rationalize...

11/26/2018 5:49pm Please articulate this one... First off, I'm not saying the testing wasn't real, I'm saying supplements such as these fall more in a grey area than EPO. EG - I could order them online right now, or go to a health food store and likely find something with them in it - and buy it without a license or a doctor on US soil. Sorry, but that's not the same as a pharmaceutical. Second, I'm suggesting doping is very vaguely defined in enduro. The EWS itself has only a few hundred words in the rule book (at the end) on...

11/26/2018 5:46pm Lot of mixed feelings on this one. On one hand I've been around competitive cycling, in just about every discipline, for most of my life (20 years?). Doping and cycling have been synonymous since I can remember. Like others in this thread (and on Pinkbike) I also want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but struggle to do so, as I was probably the biggest "lance is clean" guy going...and was made to look a fool. (this happened other times too) I also find it a bit unnerving and a bummer to see that photo of Graves taking...

10/26/2018 1:44pm ok, so i'm watching rampage webcast now. brendog just went. he was the 2nd rider to drop in today and the first one to make it down without crashing (only godziek went before...gnarly). brendan had a flawless, epic run off the rock, hit the canyon gap, did a flip. the announcers mention the judge have a tough problem that they have to "leave room" for scoring. brendan gets a 67.66. i had this article about "how to win rampage or at least get better than 9th" written last week. i never published b/c it felt too whiny and dumb. i...

Philkmetz Added a comment about press release Cane Creek's Helm Offers Travel For Every Terrain
8/23/2018 7:52am I went a whole year without servicing my Cane Creek Helm (air). I had it set to 140mm mode, I put it through the paces at from Pisgah NC, to some of Whistler's toughest trails; I rode it during hot summer days as well as below-freezing New England conditions and after a full year of abuse, it was still working beautifully. I'm honestly not sure what more you could ask for.

4/26/2018 6:35am I don't want to be overly negative, but I feel like Kona really need to work on their industrial design language. I know that there are a lot of other important factors to consider when choosing a bike, but it does play a big role when it comes to making such a major purchase. Other than the the Honzo and the Libre all of these bikes have a really awkward appearance to them. Further, the slack actual seat tube angle on the Process 153 would be and absolute deal breaker for me. I also wonder if the kink in the...

Oh man. Logged in at work to reply to this one. Sam also raced Fort William last year, in ORDER to qualify for Worlds on home soil. He finished 18th, beating some fast dudes in the process. And then at Worlds, he finished 6th on an enduro bike, beating some VERY fast dudes in the process. Shitting on Hill on a mountainbike website in any way is a bootable offence; you're just asking to get downvoted.

6/26/2017 1:45pm Ever wanted an MTB jump you could just cary around? I did too. Meet the Mini booter. Part bike jump, part backpack. It may only been 4 inches tall, but it gets the job done. This is a video I've been wanting to make for a while. I originally was going to use an x-factor ramp I found at the dump a few years ago, but I wanted something a bit more portable. The nails at the beginning were supposed to be to anchor the ramp down to the ground so it didn't slide. I forgot them when I went...

I wholeheartedly disagree: drunkwarner and freecaster made racing great again. We're seeing the result of having 'a future'. Not showing anywhere near the entire field coming down the course, wasting 20 minutes explaining what a bike is instead of showing racing, and a severe lack of Warner's anecdotes from the wild west of the 90s. Don't kid yourself. No non-mountain biker is going out of their way to deliberately tune into a red bull internet broadcast and buying a 6k bike because of it. It's better when it's for the intended audience.
