aren’t val di sol, andorra, and mont st ann still part of the wc circuit? those tracks are still super gnarly. yea it’s sam hill but i honestly think he can’t compete with aaron, loic, danny, greg and troy anymore and that’s why he’s in enduro. pretty interesting the ONLY race he did last year was on one of the lamer tracks where a massive pedal was required for a good result

Oh man. Logged in at work to reply to this one. Sam also raced Fort William last year, in ORDER to qualify for Worlds on home soil. He finished 18th, beating some fast dudes in the process. And then at Worlds, he finished 6th on an enduro bike, beating some VERY fast dudes in the process. Shitting on Hill on a mountainbike website in any way is a bootable offence; you're just asking to get downvoted.

oh yea i forgot about ft william — Mr Hill used to own ft william when he was fast and it was awesome. that’s probably why he chose ft william to qualify because he thought he’d have the best chance there. point is he’s not winning dh races anymore but he can win enduro so that’s where he is. and you have no point except you can’t disagree with sam hill cause you can’t. 6th at worlds was a LAME dh track the deal breaker was the pedal at the end. at least leogang can be won without a chain. why didn’t he show everyone what’s up at val di sol on his enduro bike?

Yeah yeah he had the best chance at ft bill but man did you see the results from cairns? The worst section of his race run was the pedalling one Boooazzzzz

cairns again? the man is racing where he is winning, easy as that. in DH after he won in MSA and Méribel in 2014 he wasn’t like, these tracks are lame. he seemed stoked. i don’t know, but it seems to me he switched to enduro to win because in DH it was apparent it was coming to an end.

Lost his stoke for WC DH after years of pinning it. Decides to race the EWS and wins in what can be described as masterful strategic application of speed, preservation of the bike and not tossing it all with crashes. I have a whole new level of respect for him now after watching him apply his racecraft perfectly during the entire ‘17 EWS season.

Last I checked he beat a few of those guys on your list the last time he raced them just a few months ago

Finishes with " can be clipped in and be boring, or you can have flat pedals and have a good time."

just want to mention that dirt has been putting these vids out for a month now. equal attention should be given by vital to nico, peaty, warner and rachel for their thoughts on the sport as well.

It's not Vital's duty to link their readers to what Dirt is doing. They obviously picked Sam's interview because he has some colorful opinions on touchy subjects and it's coming from a guy who is usually quite quiet about things.
