Have u tried to ride e-bike downhill compared to regular bike, u will be much faster and overshoot jumps (without pedal assist) , so adding weight around BB definitely make sence, especially when minimal pedaling required
Well I primarily ride park, however last 2 seasons choose status 140 as a main rig, based on geo and fun factor, compared to 180 bike i used to have. Regardless of the travel i’d look at the bike certification to hit jumps/drops/rugged terrain first, then amount of travel. since separation of the heat tube is not a fun factor...

It really is. It at least is a lot better than my Zeb 2.1 ultimate was or my factory 36 grip 2 was.

I guess I am going to be that guy but the $550 (for now) Manitou Mezzer Pro is better than my Zeb or factory 36 ever was

Wish it was a long term test and not just 350 miles. The main benefit of the linkglide should be its long term durability. Make it a 2000 mile test so we can figure out how much money we would save by going to linkglide. My GX 1x11 cassettes survive around 8000km for example and I use 4 to 5 chains in that time

on a side note, mechanical shifting won gold for both men's and women's Olympics.

Call me uncultured, but it seems that electronic shifting could only maybe improve the part of the ride that I could care least about: getting to the top. Sure, my experience is different than some given the topography of where I call home, but to get to the top, I maybe use a few different smaller gears, pedal hard, and often don’t shift much until it’s time to descend. The rate at which those shifts take place doesn’t really matter as long as they happen as they should, given the drivetrain I have. Once gravity takes over, I shift into...

Here‘s something to consider..during the Womens XCO Olympic race..Sina Frei finished P21 because she lost her AXS Battery..after winning bronze in Tokyo and getting the spot from Jolanda Neff..I dont care how good Transmission is - losing a battery must sting, especially at a race like the Olympics!!

Performance wise it is better, however i’m not a racer, and not chasing KOM’s, for me as a consumer, i’m ok with ok performance that i need to service once a year or less. I primarily ride park/dj so shifting is the last priority for me As for ebikes, still waiting when u can tap it in main battery

Do not get why no tubeless? Probably the most important for kids - tubeles tire set up, then rear suspension, not the opposite Vital thnx for this, actually a lot of riders have kids nowadays and do not have proper content of what’s on the market
