I’d assume people would prefer to be on teams with coaches and nutritionists and multiple line spotters and psychologists. Basically a ton more support. If I were to make a guess, that’s probably why the Jewett brothers went elsewhere. They’re super talented racers but they need coaches and psychologists to go up the results sheet and that doesn’t seem to be an option with PFR. I don’t know anything about BK as a person. I thought the Jenna thing was wild and something I wouldn’t do but Morganne and Emilie (sp?) have enough pull in their public standing and industry...

Honestly, a GREAT move for Orbea. I don’t hear them mentioned when people talk about bikes that do well in “gravity” uses. This is the path forward to change that. This is great marketing during a time other brands are drastically cutting their marketing back. Also, being an employee-owned company is awesome. I hope the result of all this for Orbea is some awesome bikes and a bunch of wins, including a Women’s World Cup Overall. Consider that an official prediction from a guy who knows not-that-much about DH racing.

You're right. I've only read the summary from the other site. It will all shake-out, I guess. And given that it's the first year, I hope there are significant exemptions for outstanding riders until people get settled. This is the only sport I follow...so I'm pretty passionate about fairness for the top riders, regardless of their team status.

I'm just pointing-out the absurdity of the current rule-system--that the most dominant World Cup Downhiller ever wouldn't be permitted to enter under current rules. It would probably be more to-the-point to say Rachel wants to race in the second or third race, after the 5 alternates have already been determined (assuming Atherton isn't one of them). New column and new sheet are added to the spreadsheet to account for only finals points counting towards team ranking. I missed that detail before, but I've gone through all the names in the recent PB article and then for any of the high ranking riders or riders on high ranking teams I tallied their points without qualifying points from the UCI website. Feel free to fill out the lower ranking riders too, but at the moment the top 15 seems stable pending team announcements.

With Mr. Metallier you have to think it's related to the brands not having money for it anymore rather than not wanting to continue the relationship. No idea what he's like to deal with B2B behind the scenes but as far as clicks/exposure/talking up your brand directly to an audience, he's gotta be one of the best, guy's a pro.
