That's the annealing temperature, before quenching. The temperature range used for the subsequent precipitation hardening, to apply the temper, is much lower, e.g. for 6061-T6 it's less than 400°F (although for much longer periods than powder coating). That's why I'm curious.

sounds like your buddy needs a Chili! yeah, the new endo looks sweet. Interesting how they've decided to produce it only in smaller sizes though. Guess we'll see if that holds. But I love how they've continued to take a serviceability and engineering approach to these bikes.

Buddy of mine runs a 170 fork on his, different stokes they say! I use it as my mellow ride/coaching bike. Looking at the new Endorphin with lust in my eyes!

thanks man. This one actually started out life as a raw frame. Not sure if you read the suspension details but I played with the setup on this one quite a bit and settled on 52.5 shock stroke which gives the bike approximately 127mm of rear travel as opposed to the 50mm stroke with 120mm travel or the 55mm shock at 135 travel. I also felt a semi beefy 140 fork gave the bike the best balance of send capability along with trail worthy responsiveness and playfulness. I know its popular but I have no idea how anyone runs a...

Heat required for powder coat is like 350-400, It prolly gets hotter than that in the back of a van in summer heat to heat treat alu is like 850-1000. Powder coat is fine, but a little heavy, and thick
