how is the temp inside these? The latest five ten trailcross is the coolest shoe I've ridden to date. Not very protective though. The freerider pros are protective but a little warm. The RC livewires are really warm. Hoping these fall somewhere closer to the five tens

I tease about the tires. I rode the 2.3's as well. Same butcher eliminator combo and grid trail casings. My intent was also lighter and faster. Just thought the decline in grip wasn't worth the tiny bit of weight savings. Its really loose where I live though (Las Vegas) so any bit of grip one can find is worth its weight in gold.

Why is that a “shame”? I’ve got the 2.6 on the big bike. The 2.3 is a bit lighter and faster, perfect for the trail bike. The chain tool was a Birzman and the sealant is made by FourFourThree. The Öhlins stuff was on the 27.5 version of the bike (testing both). That’s the old version of the Öhlins fork though, not their best product.

2.3's? Shame. I'm running the same combo in 2.6. The grip level is definitely higher. What sealant and chain tool were you using in the build? I saw you had Ohlins suspension on the bike prior to EXT. Correct choice?

I have been running them in the "Grid Gravity" version for a few months on my big bike, so when the time came to put this trail bike together, I jumped at the opportunity to keep testing the tires, this time in Grid Trail version. I am stoked on them so far for sure. Review to follow! Same goes for the fork...it's being reviewed on this bike...and yes, it's going really well so far too... ;-)

For the one or two times I need to acccess my tube or pump, I love that everything is tucked away in my Stumpjumper's down tube. I, for one, don't want my tools exposed and out in the open. They're tools. I don't keep my jumper cables in the front seat of my car; they're hidden in the trunk. If you access your tools so much that you need them in a handy location, it sounds like...
