I really like Greenland but not surprised he hasn’t been picked up. He hasn’t had the results recently and his legacy results aren’t good enough to earn him a spot for the “potential” to still get top results, especially with the new age kids. He’s still fun to watch and I hope he continues to get hardline opportunities and the like. As I write this, I realize that he could still end up on Atherton, but not sure what the ROI would be except for maybe bike dev.

I generally recommend everyone has a full overhaul once a year - if you ride a ton then also do a lowers service at 6 months, and that covers 99% of people. You can't tell when a damper NEEDS a service, only when it should have been serviced about 6 months ago. And catastrophic failures always come at the worst time - right before or during a big ride/race/holiday Damper oil breaks down and starts to wear out parts like the inside of the damper tube - and usually feel fine right up until the point they have done major...

I was watching his skiing stories on Insta yesterday and thought to myself that he won't be a pro bike racer again, feeling kinda bad for the dude because he's had such tough luck these last few years, but can swing off of it when on it. Traditionally it leaned towards a more French line up and staff which Dean Lucas found difficult being the token English speaker, however that was years ago and the team now has a more global roster. Don't disregard the affect that Bucko (Ben Walker one of the unsung heroes of the mtb world who is well overdue for a podcast interview) has on everything gravity for Scott.

His contributions to the B-Practice podcast are probably a big reason that Vital favors him (Just like people here love Jesse M. because he actually posts in the forum periodically). It makes them feel like they're "one of your own." Shocking... do good PR things that expand your audience and let people get to know you... and you increase your fan base and marketability. Personally, I'm not American, so that doesn't play into it at all. Winning doesn't make you likeable. Dak presents as a nice guy and people like that. Having a bit of a unique set up could also play into it, but I think it's mostly just the nice guy thing. People also love an underdog and a comeback story, so everyone's been cheering him on as he's steadily improving after his injuries last year.
