6/2/2019 1:31pm In all sports, people are obsessed with the thought of when a legend/future hall of famer is going to retire. From this video and his AMA on the other site among a number of other interviews its always "When are you going to retire?". I don't get it... I'm tuning in to watch Minnaar race World Cups every time, hope the guys around for years more. I guess I just don't get the fascination with it

6/1/2019 1:31pm Not just only for qualifying. Only if it´d bring other value alongside it, like more cameras. Also they´d have to first make the situation better for all the independent media guys on the track before i´d trust RB with going full paid coverage. I fear if they´d go for it, they´d agressively protect their property and kill amazing things like...

5/30/2019 4:11pm Definitely pedals and a Multitool or set of Hexkeys so you can set things up to your liking. Most rental shops won´t dial things in for you at all, so it´s good to have that tool in your pocket to adjust brake levers, saddle height etc. on the trail.

5/30/2019 10:41am In Leogang Sport Mitterer has brand new Scott bikes of all categories for rent, even the high end spec Gambler models with the Fox Factory bits. You should probably email them and make a reservation so you can get the good stuff as they also have some with only the basic spec. Just so you don´t forget, bring your own...

5/30/2019 10:18am Spomer and Jeff, you sound *exactly* like Lance apologists circa 2007. Which is funny, because Jeff has already admitted to being a Lance apologist circa 2007. "Why would Lance risk it all by doping? He wouldn't. He's an incredible rider in the first place so he doesn't need to dope, plus he's such a down-to-earth likable guy. I trust him." People are competitive and weird, and they don't all share your values. When people can cheat, a lot of people will cheat. Not all people, but a lot of people. BUT NO ONE WOULD CHEAT IN MOUNTAIN BIKING, WE'RE ALL...

5/30/2019 10:16am Nothing is more sped up than 'Slice of British Pie' and 'Slice of shite 2' or whatever it is called. If you have to speed it up then the footage is shit! Fact!

5/30/2019 10:12am I want to see actual videos. No "you figure it out" games, I mean seriously - people spend all day on the Internet whining about stuff... but when it domes down to the actual why are people so afraid to link who they're calling out? Like... what's the original video person going to do to you anyways?

5/24/2019 6:37pm Yup, i hadn´t even doubted the crank story before any proof. The problem is when an athlete or manufacturer gets all up in arms over such a trivial thing, people will inevitably start to doubt the story. Now, after that interview, these things will pop up like mushrooms. That´s what i wanted to express.

5/24/2019 6:27pm Alright well didn’t mean to get all up in arms but I think Gwin is telling the truth. Maybe it wasn’t the most thought out press release but those look like third gen e13 cranks. Either way I still wouldn’t run them or any carbon crank for that matter. Ti is the way to go but not affordable.

5/23/2019 10:36am That whole interview really is something else. I don´t know what to say to that. This is getting blown way out of proportion by them.

5/22/2019 10:41am This is such an important point. We have all these communication channels today, but sometimes it is better to not use them. Santa Cruz have not jumped on twitter claiming how Marshy was experimenting with frame flex on that particular frame and had made cuts in the downtube and toptube the night before. They accepted that stuff breaks on the...

5/22/2019 10:24am Agreed- changing "my mechanic" to "we" would have made a lot of this fiasco (if not all of it) not a fiasco. Much of people's anger arose from this part of his post. When we communicate through mediums where we only have text, choosing the correct words is of the utmost importance. We don't have body language, tone of voice, personal immediacy, etc. We literally just have our words and our message will be interpreted and judged solely on the words we select. The importance of this is compounded even more given that these threads/posts can stay around forever...

5/22/2019 10:23am I’d rather you lied to us and not publicly pointed your finger at John. It doesn’t have to be anyone’s fault, it’s just part of racing @ the top level. The End.

5/22/2019 10:21am Here is a better version of dealing with a broken part in a public race on Instagram: Hey Guys, Racing is tough on bikes and riders. Some cases you can't simulate in FEM (picture of a FEM simulation of a crank). So here we go, overshooting the last jump wasn't the best idea, but who wants to brake. The results of this special test will let you ride even safer with new products.

5/21/2019 1:20pm thanks for chiming in, aaron. it's crazy this whole ordeal turned into such chaos and wasted time. i woke up this morning to a billion texts and emails about all the drama. when the vid was posted yesterday, i didn't know it was a "leaked" video. i also chalked it up to "world cup riders are gnarly. they do gnarly things. they break stuff," and figured that the rest of the mtb community had the same reasonable way of thinking. i knew some people may comment on the crank break, but the newsworthiness of the video was that you hurt...

5/21/2019 11:05am Saying stupid things is one thing. Throwing your friends under the bus is something else. What he´s doing is damage control 101, owning up to the mistake before the twitter shitstorm gets going. It´s basic knowledge for any pro athlete in 2019. Maybe he´s genuinely sorry, we won´t ever know, but this was handled rather poorly by him and for...

5/21/2019 10:24am Exactly, the criticism of it being posted is childish and petty. Especially when it's the same outlet that has given so much favorable coverage to Gwin over the years, all the way back to the Yeti days. Its a cell phone video from a public race. It wasn't someone flying a drone over a wall and getting video from a secret test session.
