I love that game plan you describes, with the caveat that I'd like to reiterate the importance of militantly safeguarding equal spoke tension during the initial wheel build process and after riding. If that game plan doesn't fix it for you, then I think we can conclusively determine that you are the problem. Lol.

Ok you dingleberries. Rather than debating the merit of which way to mullet your rotors, why not just run 220 front and back?

A 32"/27,5" is basically a full 29".

One big tech not and one small tech note from World Champs pit bits- As y'all mentioned, Schwalbe now makes a 32" Radial Gravity Pro Magic Mary, which is a big deal because that makes it the first truly heavy duty 32" tire from any brand. Previously Neko was running an EXO+ Dissector up front on his 32" Frameworks DH bike at Mountain Creek. He said the EXO+ front tire felt fine and didn't bug him, which is nuts, and makes me suspect that the 32" front wheel could actually feel really really good with a proper DH tread, casing...

When the stumpy 15 dropped they did a PB podcast and they also basically said “yeah no evo, it has to special/gnarly to get the evo name” That lasted like less than a year, I think their philosophy is pretty money centric lol.

Gents, can we talk about the crescent wrench thing? Dude, crescent wrench is not the preferred nomenclature (tool) it’s knipex (or knockoff) please. Besides, then you also have the proper tool for everything hex related on the bike, rotor truing, fork air top caps and can even use it as a hand vice if need be. Next thing you’re going to say is that you use the ole rock on rock tap method to reduce air pressure in your suspension. MADNESS! FWIW, I use a 7” for most things and I have a knockoff one that travels so that the...

Yeah, I guess if you weigh 170 but ride 2x faster than most people you need 35 psi and a cushcore... Random but my buddies and I stayed up at Trestle last weekend. We were watching old EWS videos and I showed them the Keystone clip of you following Sam Hill a long time ago. Great clip. The Gopro is...

TEAMROBOT's comment about spoke tension is important. This is what I have to do on my Reserve 30 DH alloys. Doesn't seem like you've clarified if you're checking spoke tension after every park day or not. Another option, maybe unpopular, but I wonder if you tried the Reserve DH Carbon or WAO Deal, with Schwalbe Radials at 35 PSI (skip...

I agree that butted spokes are essential for wheel strength. They allow the spokes and the wheel to bend and not break. But even more important than that, butted spokes hold tension better. Because spokes are always being cycled from more tension to less tension (and in heavy duty bike park or DH riding they're also being reduced to zero tension in heavy berms and ruts), the spokes need a way to absorb constant changes in spoke tension. With a butted spoke, that take-up of tension is built in, but straight gauge spokes are much less elastic, so they tend...

Getting a screenshot on insta reels is super hard! but I spotted this bracket with 2 positions. I got some rough measurements from the those other pictures to estimate the change in Linkage (I don't think the model in there wasn't super accurate either) and yup, it probably increases the AR to 100-120%

Saw the pack of them up there yesterday too — could be a sign. But the new LT has long chainstays, and I don't think they'd landed on that geo yet when they made the mold for the DH bike. The current proto has a rear pivot, so no adjustable CS either. I've got 7 days on my V10 now...

I was told no new Enduro until at least 2027, I figured it was going to be a Sea Otter release given most companies wouldn’t want to release a bike in the dead of Winter in the US. Did anyone else working at a Specialized dealer get any “When’s the new Enduro coming out?” stickers? My rep claimed he made them, but I’ve never gotten a single piece of swag from that dude in 10+ years, so it made me skeptical that Specialized was drumming up a very slow marketing campaign. In other future product news from the grape vine...
