I’m 30+ years into MTB fandom- It’s been about 20 years since we’ve had pro and Jrx fields this deep at a national. Hopefully the same energy and momentum carries forward for the Mtn Creek and USopen rounds!

Windrock is unreal. We were there for the Enduro. On Thursday, I saw Gwin, Pinkerton, Luca Shaw, Dak, Frida, and Grice in the shuttle line. That area is really becoming the epicenter of the DH scene.. and for good reason.

So with that last sentence from Rider Mike, I'm curious to hear... Do folks actually think USAC "Pays" venues to put on national champs? It could not be more the opposite. It costs venues 10's of thousands of dollars, (maybe in the 6 figures when it was combined XC and DH) to meet USAC requirements, pay USAC officials, house all of the staff, and put on a national championships race. On the same vein of polling the group... Does anyone know of even ONE other legit bid that was put in to USAC to host national champs in 23/24? I'm...

You only get to race juniors for 2 years. Racing age 17 and 18. Goldstone only got 2 years, Chris Grice only got 2 years etc... There are other series, including DHSE (Snowshoe is pretty much the same track as world cup) to get ready for a world cup juniors run... plus Tennessee National coming up in March at Windrock...

Downhill Rockies 1st race, love to see it! So now we’ve got 4 regional DH series rolling in the US; Downhill Southeast, Eastern States Cup, NW CUP, and Downhill Rockies. Take one race from each of those series and make it a US National round. Then add in the Existing TN National at Windrock, Mtn Creek national, and USO??? We have a world of kids in the Southeast that are thriving on chasing Dak, Gwinn and Neko Grice and the Shaw’s around the hills. I spend more time than anyone scoring local dh and enduro races. To get into “the pipeline” kids need to be pinned by 14, so managers can watch their 15 year and make plans for the 17-18 UCI junior years.
