I always saw VPP as Santa Cruz's USP. If it's Yet Another Plain Old Horst Link, what am I getting other than the name that makes it exceptional?

Engineers at Scott must be going insane after finding out Specialized has beaten them at making the most complicated MTB to service, the next Gambler will have 32 pivots in retaliation

I believe it is up to a total of 35 states that have adopted the three class structure for e-bikes. California and New Jersey are both taking things a step further, but true enforcement is lacking. There is nothing to stop anyone from advertising something as an eMTB, even if it is "out of class" and the brand can say that it is only for private property. (see https://ridebonnell.com/products/bonnell-775-mx sold as an ebike)

Ha... no, none of the ebikes you buy here have such a decal. I think I've seen a few with temporary ones but never permanent. I don't even recall exactly what was on them, since I took them off right away.

Some states regulated it, others haven't. I don't know who was first, but whoever came up with the class 1-3 thing, a bunch of other jurisdictions jumped on board including British Columbia for a while. I would guess California was probably one of the first in North America, they always are, right? I'm not American and don't really follow the...

Another wild thing about this Demo is that it uses a GXP spindle for its crankset. We're almost back to isis bbs haha. And it seems to me that you aren't locked into running sram drivetrains, just the special crankset and Chainrings, but you can run anything else on the back of the bike.

Looks to say Torrent on the top tube, makes sense as the bike was last updated in 23, but going from a hardtail to a freeride bike is pretty weird imo

I think there was a Vital forum topic a while back about what people wanted to see out of E-Bike development. What you've described was a really popular concern for many, myself included. But to beat a dead horse... Right now e-bikes are like computers, which are essentially expensive garbage after a few years of use. Maybe even worse than computers as you can at least repurpose or repair computers. The cynical part of my mind thinks the planned obsolescence inherent to e-goods is what "the industry" has come up with to keep money flowing now that pedal bikes are...
