10/8/2024 4:13pm Here we are thinking that Shimano is releasing the new Saint cranks soon. But what they are actually going to sell us is a “Saint” sticker to slap on a crank of our choice for $300. Modern Problems. Modern Solutions.

10/8/2024 1:46pm I recall Shimano was not stoked on this and had a crankset made soon after for the end of last season. Seems they didn't have them available for the photoshoot back in July as they were still racing on the proto bikes up until last weekend.

10/8/2024 10:06am Small tip for people using the Maven bleed kit. It's pretty much impossible to get the air completely out of the syringe hoses before installing them on the brakes, because after pushing the last of the air out, the seal causes the piston to retract slightly and pull a bubble of air back in. Just make sure you always start your bleed by pulling the syringe plunger slightly before pushing it to migrate this bubble out the hose and into the syringe reservoir, to avoid shooting this air bubble into your brakes and making your bleed more difficult than it...

10/7/2024 9:48am I was thinking the same, really cool that they managed to keep the manufacturing costs within a normal range.

10/7/2024 9:47am Love my current Phoenix, and I'd love to get my hands on a new one. However, I'd rather Pivot fix their customer support outside of the US before I invest so much on a bike from them again. Also, kudos to Vital for having a legit large rider test bikes. It's hard to take a 'durability review' form a 150lb rider seriously.

10/7/2024 9:47am The new bike felt really comfortable, the suspension platform really helps calm things down, but I felt like there was less of that "rattle you off-line" feeling I would get on the old bike that is usually associated with super stiff frames.

10/7/2024 9:46am Any comparison of the frame rigidity? I saw the notes about the rear end compliance. Thanks, great review!

10/4/2024 9:32am I had the previous model Phoenix 29 with a coil shock and all aluminum parts that weighed 35lbs on the dot. I think those could get as low as 33.5lbs with all carbon parts. The new frame is definitely slimmer but the dual chain system probably weighs an extra pound or two.

9/28/2024 4:49pm I think as long as they feel even that's all that matters, I've found my levers end up at different positions from left to right just going off of feeling. I suppose 4 clicks is a full rotation of the reach adjuster, maybe it can be re clocked to help them match up better.

9/28/2024 1:10pm That is surprising but I guess goes to show how difficult it is to replicate the same measurement on both sides. Did you remeasure after matching the clicks?
