I had a C1 170 for awhile. I concur with much of what you said. I've owned most of the brands on the market and it was very smooth and consistent. Probably the best-feeling post I've had; not notchy or slow. However, I had to use that external bleed procedure ALOT....more

that isn't the same. Different fluids plus waaaay different operation. Brakes are a simple, pushing a fluid that doesn't compress against a piston. In a reverb, oil is moving and circulating through the "damper." Even a suspension fork will feel odd in the winter.

Huh? I ride a cable actuated dropped all winter here in Vermont. Winters are very cold and I've never had a cable freeze. If anything gets wonky in cold temps, its hydraulics.

I guess it's just because I'm a cheap bastard, but it's pretty remarkable to me people are still spending $400 on droppers when PNW and One-up posts work so well

I don't think I have ever paid more than 60 euros for a tyre, specialised used to sell their tyres in shops for 35-45e (don't live near a spesh shop currently so don't know if that changed). With a small amount of browsing you can get top of the line Schwalbes or Maxxis online for under 60....more

So good. Hopefully this brings on a new generation of silent hubs.

Sugar Wheelworks here in Portland laced up a set of wheels for me 2 years ago with Derby 35 Carbon rims and Onyx hubs. I couldn't be happier with a set of wheels. I will never go back to a loud freehub, ever, and instant engagement is a treat.

in a previous life i've done a lot of hub testing... the sprag designs have their issues... thats why they are not the first choice for freewheels that need to survive a high torque load (like trials) and still be light and low cost... but they do fine on modern 30x50 combos which...more

Hmmmm, I think that five ten will slowly die off. As a rider, I want to support a riding brand and be able to see the logo on somebody else and know they too mtb. I think in 5 years there will only be adidas shoes with stealth rubber. I'm hoping to see some reviews on ride concepts they seem like that if they can make rubber that competes, they could get a decent market share.

I'd ride it until you feel that a part doesn't fit, breaks, or you can tell that it holding you back. If you can't feel the fork flexing, you probably shouldn't be spending money on a new stiffer fork.

Agree, it hurts to watch Rogatkin finish his run after he fell off the side.
