If you wanna keep things quiet it´s actually a rather logical move. I mean, having an unknown but fast rider on the other side of the planet test your bike is as low key as it gets while ensuring to put the thing through real world conditions. Him being a specialized sponsored rider, even though only localy, ensures he´s got experience on the previous bike and can comment on improvments and differences. It is probably not too far fetched to expect spec development to reach out to their distributors in order to get some fast guy on their newest frame...

The fact that Gee is part of making a bike that looks the exact same as a Sunday is quality. Id say he had nightmares about Sam on that green Sunday years ago ripping everyone to pieces

Interested to see how their business plan looks...becoming a profitable brand that can bank roll a team? Bike industry is a fickle one and the next global down turn *cough SOON cough* might make this a very risky move
