I heard the Yeti MT is being released on the 25th. It can’t come soon enough, I’ve held off on buying 3 different frames over the last few weeks hoping the Yeti will be “the one.”

Couple insights Yeti MT coming very soon. Some shops already have them New Specialized enduro coming. My guess is march/april 2027. Apparently specialized believes it will sell better than the stumpy 15 which was one of there best selling bikes. No clue on design, just being told it’s coming

I worked at a Specialized dealer when the Levo came out and we had to remind most customers to actually shift. Most of them would leave it in one of the highest 3 gears and just use the power modes as the "gears" when riding the bike. Steep climb? Just put it in turbo and pedal a sub-20 RPM cadence. Lots of snapped belts and replaced chains. The majority of eBike buyers are nothing like existing mountain bikers

Oddly, list price on the top model is only $100 more for the lite. For weight-weenies, $100 for 1.1 lb is a bargain ($0.20/g). By the time you get to Dangerholm-level weight-weenyism, you're looking at more than $5/gram to shave weight. For the sort of person that spends $14k on a bike, the $100 is lost in the noise.

Sick to hear the positive reviews rolling in! I would definitely try dropping pressures as well, the casing really comes alive at lower pressures. You don’t have to make a huge step, even 1 psi can help get a bit more grip. I designed the tire so the following is wildly biased. Accessible performance was a big goal and is something the DHX does well, the performance characteristics that result in World Cup wins translates to extra margin of error for us mere mortals. The key difference is where the main restriction actually comes from. With something like the Charger 3, the flow path leading to the shim stack is restricted, so that restriction effectively sits in series with the shim stack. With the ZETA Tune Adjuster, the ports and the fluid paths leading to them are sized so that the shim stack itself remains the main restriction in the flow path. There are always open ports, and the ports themselves are non-restrictive until the flow reaches the shim stack opening. When additional ports are opened, they essentially add another flow path in parallel...

First up, thank you to the Vital team for presenting our product here! Since a few questions came up, I wanted to chime in and clarify a bit what we mean by the Tune Adjusters. As @Slavid666 analyzed pretty much spot-on, the High-Speed Tune Adjuster changes the port configuration underneath a non-preloaded tapered shim stack. With each adjuster position, one additional port is closed off, changing the hydraulically loaded area of the stack. The shim stack itself stays exactly the same, but the way it is loaded changes, which therefore changes the slope of the resulting force-velocity curve. That is...

below is the amflow PR. you posted the PX which is $10k and has a 700wh batttery. PR and new konas are similarly priced, both with 800wh batteries. kona is alloy/bosch/mech drivetrain, PR is carbon/avinox/s1000 drivetrain. the PR is a 53 pound thicky (it's in my garage right now).

Most (nearly all) mountain bikes have a maximum weight (mass) limit. They just bury it in the manual and don’t advertise it. I know the previous generation Demo frame had a limit in its manual also.

1- MaxxTerra DHX DH casing should be in the next 1-2 months. Other pattern DH casings in Maxxterra in the fall, or end of year at latest. 2- the grade of nylon was changed for the new DH casing compared to DD. The ply overlap has also changed, DD has 4 layers under the tread in most locations, where the new DH has 6 layers consistently out to where the under tread overlap meets the sidewall protection. This ends up giving more under tread protection compared to the old 2x60tpi DH casing by around 30% in a plunger force test...

If you guys ever see a tire insert that needs to be made but doesn't exist, let us know. Happy to prototype it and share learnings here. Could do it live on here to see what we learn as well. We are making a custom insert for a team for next season, will see how it goes!

Reserve carbon HD's are incredibly durable and I have had the same experience where they last so much longer and are so much less maintenance that they are arguably cheaper in the long run when compared to most AL hoops. I used to be an inserts in everything guy... but recently I've reduced my usage of inserts to my ebike and light weight inserts on my light duty trail bikes that run exo/exo+. Everything else gets a thicker casing tire instead of an insert.

The smells of these boring ass SLO trails may be the only reason I’m still riding them. Sage and especially eucalyptus, they can smell like a spa! When the hills are wet and activated (ayo) it’s unreal. I’m a sucker for tri-flow, that’s my favorite workshop smell. Simple Green and kerosene. NOT old fork oil. Excellent topic.
