Interesting. How did you get along with braking traction? Even in conditions that should suit the argotals better, I found the Kryptotals made me stop faster. However, in winter conditions with a mix of snow and mud, argotals are excellent tires. Also, can only talk about dh casing and super soft rubber.

agree 100%. The window where argotals outperform the kryptotals is tiny. Grip on hardpack, rocks and roots really isn't that good on these

I can tell you that the Argotal is absolutely horrible on hardpack or loose over hard, so they'd knock it down for that. The shoulder lugs just fold over way too easily leading to loss of traction. It's fantastic on softer surfaces and rolls nicely otherwise.

I agree with this. But I'll offer a counter point. Low-mid travel suspension is become better than ever also, and tyres and strong carbon rims. So because of improvements like HBO and strong 120mm forks we have bikes like the smuggler that can smash black trails and jump well, whereas previously you'd be lucky for a 120mm bike to not snap in half doing jumps on it. So yes I agree long travel is easier to pedal, but short travel is easier to rip. Yet it seems like bikes growing is definitely the trend.

It seems like 2.5lb is about the average weight penalty for an aluminum frame without the frame being a flimsy soda can. Adding in frame storage is probably a massive weight penalty too.

"See you Monday" on Finn's tire is so good. Also great answer from MM about the inertia damper at the end of the vid. I'd way rather hear about cookies and a tent stashed in there than some boilerplate about how "we're constantly striving to achieve new avenues of synergistic growth technologies."

Well .....the Scott, and Pivot are still going (just) , the V10 and Glory have only just been updated (and pretty lightly). Did the current Demo come out in 2019? Why are the M29 and Aurum Hp regarded as being so bad? Covid and the bikopolypse knocked releases back but DH bike development is pretty slow.

My problem with OChain is that its not expensive enough. It needs an electronic lockout that connects to my ANT+ power meter to know when I'm pedalling and when I'm coasting. Or maybe a built in accelerometer so it knows if I'm pointed uphill or downhill. Whatever makes it more expensive.

At least the cheap model switched to Deore. Interesting to see kids bike still gets NX. Still hoping they release an alloy Stumpy with a Z2 or something like a Yari/35goldRL to get it to 3k or less. (reality check: its going to be xfusion and sram sx for 2500 isnt it??)
