12/12/2025 10:43am I can appreciate your angle -- Raaw is focused on great riding bikes that are easy for the owner ride hard, put away wet and maintain and why wouldn't we want that with an e-bike? Make something more complex less complex for the average person. I think the issue arises with motors, batteries, etc -- I don't think they'll ever be as durable as a standard Raaw bike so you introduce complexities into a company that's built itself off of offering a less complex product. Then you increase operating coast because you have folks spending more time on R&D and...

12/10/2025 9:13pm Shimano has been on the “me too” cycle with mountain bike products for at least the last 10 years. It’s all just been reactions to what SRAM and others have been doing. Nominating them for any kind of award is just a hard no in my opinion.

11/19/2025 6:17am Specialized does this sometimes. They did it on the Enduro, but put the bearings in the rocker for the Stumpjumper Evo and now have the bearings in the SS again for the Stumpjumper 15. Current Norco Sight does have the bearings in the SS, too.

11/16/2025 1:35pm Something screams scor at me with this bike but they went out of business, somehow…BMC, the company behind it, might want to give it another try.

11/16/2025 12:58pm I think that’s a good guess. The cable port is similar to Norco (and Scor), but the area where the seat tube and top tube meet definitely doesn’t look like a Norco. It does, however, look similar to the 4060.

8/31/2025 9:55pm He's undeniably a far better rider than I’ll ever be, and this isn’t a critique of his skill on the bike—that speaks for itself. That said, I have to disagree with what you’re saying. He’s consistently criticized almost every bike he’s ridden since the original Mondraker. More notably, he’s the only rider I’ve heard go on a podcast and openly tear into multiple former sponsors' equipment—sometimes even gear that’s still on the market. Most riders might, years later, say something like “that wasn’t the best race bike,” but he goes as far as to call bikes sketchy or unsafe. That...

5/7/2025 10:18am The battery pin issues mainly affect the GX version due to its battery placement. Water that reaches the pins tends to stay there, causing corrosion. Personally, I'd go for the X0 because of that.

5/6/2025 2:27pm At least compared to my other bikes I'd say the stumpy evo has medium chain growth. I tried the cascade link too but wasn't overly impressed and went back to the stock link with a higher spring rate. I taped the area around the chain stay and it does the job just fine. A 55mm chainline like on Transmission should...

5/6/2025 10:32am That's interesting. What kind of retention issues did you have with the Stumpy Evo? I'm running an MRP chain guide and have never had the chain come off. Even with a floppy, worn GX derailleur, I never had issues with the chain dropping — just noise. Now I'm on the 55mm chainline and not sure how I feel about it...

5/5/2025 1:36pm No you don’t really HAVE to, the reasoning behind every components is in my first post, it shifts great under load, no better then when I had shimano everything else as well as the cassette, Plus the derailleurs are made of cheese, they need everything to be perfect or they will perform horribly with random clicking and cracking sounds, while the gx just works and I don’t have to work on it every other week or every other month. As I was saying I’m very happy with the sram chain on shimano cassette, even when everything else is shimano it’s...

5/5/2025 10:44am I moved to eagle 90 from X01. I went with the X0 cassette and after 2 rides I really started to enjoy the new drivetrain. Shifting under load is so nice, there is no need for faster shifting. This thing just works.
